It should be known that this leads to accomplishment. It should be known that this leads to seeing the Tathagata. In order to benefit the world and out of compassion, through the power of aspiration, in order to perfectly explain this Dharma discourse, having been born as a human in this Jambudvipa, establishing oneself extensively in the Dharma and establishing a vast Buddha-field, in order to very correctly explain this Dharma discourse, after my complete passing into nirvana, it should be known that I am born for the benefit and compassion of sentient beings. King of Medicine, after the Tathagata's complete passing into nirvana, whoever speaks this Dharma discourse, even secretly or stealthily explains or teaches it correctly to one sentient being, King of Medicine, that son or daughter of good family, should be known as the messenger of the Tathagata. That son or daughter of good family is doing the work of the Tathagata, and should be known as being sent by the Tathagata. King of Medicine, for those sentient beings who are filled with hatred, filled with sinful thoughts, and filled with violent thoughts, rather than directly speaking unpleasant words to the Tathagata for a kalpa, it is said to be an extremely terrible sinful act to utter even one true or untrue unpleasant word to those who uphold this sutra, those Dharma teachers, whether they are householders or renunciates. Why is that? King of Medicine, because it should be known that that son or daughter of good family is adorned with the adornments of the Tathagata. King of Medicine, whoever writes this Dharma discourse into letters, makes it into a scripture, and carries it on their shoulder, that is the same as carrying the Tathagata on their shoulder. Wherever they go, the sentient beings there should fold their palms, show respect, honor, depict, and make offerings. With flowers of gods and humans, incense, garlands, ointments, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, divine banners, sounds of musical instruments, foods, dishes, drinks, beverages, vehicles, and heaps of supreme divine jewels, show respect to that Dharma teacher. With divine jewels

One should impoverish the aggregates of emptiness. Why is that? Because this Dharma discourse, even if explained correctly and well once, hearing it will enable immeasurable and countless sentient beings to quickly accomplish unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Then, the Bhagavan spoke these verses at that time: Those who wish to abide in Buddhahood, Those who desire self-arising wisdom, Those who uphold this method, Those sentient beings should be revered. Whoever desires omniscience, Thinking how to attain it quickly, Should hold this sutra, And also revere the holder. For the sake of love for sentient beings, Whoever recites this sutra, For the sake of taming sentient beings, The Protector of the World has sent it forth. For the sake of compassion for sentient beings, Whoever holds this sutra, Having relinquished a good birth, That hero has come here. This unsurpassed sutra, Is well explained in the later times, Because it appears there, He has power over birth. Jewels are scattered upon the Dharma speaker, All kinds of human incense, And worshipped with divine flowers, Covered all around with divine cloths. Even in that terrible later time, The one who holds the sutra after my passing, Like a self-arising king, Will always have palms joined to him. Whoever speaks this sutra once, For the sake of worshipping that prince, Food and drink are given, A place, bedding, and clothes are freely given. Those who in this later time, Write, hold, and listen to this sutra, I have sent into the realm of humans, They perform the deeds of the Tathagata. Whoever, sitting before me, With a frown and harmful Intentions, Spreads unpleasant news for a kalpa, That person's sin greatly increases. Whoever well explains this sutra, Those who hold this sutra, Whoever scolds and does not praise, It is said that person's sin is very great. Whoever fully seeks supreme enlightenment, And for a kalpa, with palms joined, Praises with numerous verses, Any person, That praise of me, Joyful One, Will gain much more merit than that. Whoever praises him, Merit will increase more than that. Eighteen thousand million kalpas
