How could I, the Blessed One, be pleased, or have peace of mind, or be joyful, or satisfied, or exceedingly happy, after the complete passing into Nirvana of such a great lamp of wisdom, and such a great light of knowledge? If this great sun of wisdom, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of rays of light, dispelling the darkness of ignorance, and such a light-maker, were to set, how could I, the Blessed One, have joy or happiness? If I were separated from such a precious sentient being, how could I have joy and play? Sentient being of light, sentient being of realization, sentient being without contempt, sentient being without fault, sentient being without delusion, supreme sentient being, unsurpassed sentient being, incomparable sentient being, unequaled sentient being, sentient being equal to the unequal, sentient being who liberates all sentient beings, excellent sentient being, worthy sentient being, tamer of sentient beings, subduer of sentient beings, pleased to benefit sentient beings, speaking correctly, speaking at the right time, speaking in order, speaking without perversion, acting as he speaks, endowed with great compassion, abiding in great love, without anger towards all sentient beings, with a mind of equanimity towards all sentient beings, utterly unelaborated, without pride, without taking, without basis, without place, unwearied, without stain, protector, guide, truly guiding, completely guiding, completely liberating, completely protecting, causing to remember, causing to realize, urging and encouraging, abandoning sorrow, extracting the dart, king of physicians, healing the mind, giving great medicine, completely liberating from extreme suffering, teacher, leader, guide, making a ladder, holding a raft, holding a lamp, making light, shining, making clear, giving eyes, showing the way, causing to go to a place of peace, abandoning all stains and smoke and knots, without desire, without latent tendencies, knots and attachments, all completely destroyed, free from desire, free from hatred, free from delusion, free from afflictions, free from attachments, free from pride and arrogance and strife, such a great being,

Noble son, supreme being, hero, one who possesses patience, lotus being, white lotus being, elephant being, lion being, chief being, steadfast being, supreme being, wise one, unsurpassed one, one whose mind is not weary, one who meditates on great meditation, one who meditates on all meditations, one whose field of activity is all meditations and samadhi, wisdom without attachment, wisdom without obstruction, one whose field of activity of wisdom is unequaled, one who overthrows the banner of victory, one who crosses the mire, one who abides on level ground, one who has gone to the other shore, one who has gone to the place of fearlessness, one who gives fearlessness to all sentient beings, the life-breath of all the world will be separated and cut off at this final moment. If I no longer see the Lion's Roar of the Blessed One, and no longer hear the Lion's Roar of the Tathagata, from where, Blessed One, shall I obtain joy or peace of mind? The Parinirvana of the Tathagata, Blessed One, is like this: for example, when a king, a kshatriya by birth, who has been consecrated from the crown of his head, at the time of death, sentient beings remember what has been done, know what has been done, rejoice in what has been done, and some who are afflicted by suffering, they then grieve for a year, or two years, or three years, or four years, or five years, or six years, or seven years, or half a month, or a month, weeping and remaining. Likewise, after the Parinirvana of the Blessed One, as long as the sacred Dharma remains, I will not approach forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile objects. I will also not be attached to the five desirable qualities, I will not play, I will not enjoy them. I will also not seek other clothes, and I will not approach or enjoy flowers, garlands, incense, and unguents. Blessed One, until the sacred Dharma has not disappeared, I will also not approach other enjoyments besides that. The Second Chapter, the Guide, is complete. Second, The Guide Chapter.
