Sixth, The Chapter on the Momentary. Sixth, The Chapter on the Momentary. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Mahamati Bodhisattva requested the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, please explain to me the arising and cessation of the skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas. Sugata, please explain to me. If there is no self, what arises or ceases? Because ordinary people are attached to arising and cessation, they do not understand the cessation of suffering, and therefore cannot fully understand liberation." The Bhagavan said: "Mahamati, therefore, listen very well and keep it in mind, and I will explain it to you." Mahamati Bodhisattva replied: "Good, Bhagavan." Then he listened again to the Bhagavan's teachings. To this, the Bhagavan said: "Mahamati, the Tathagatagarbha is the cause of good and non-good, the maker of all birth and death, the abandonment of self and what belongs to self, like a dancer entering a frightening cycle of existence. Because they do not understand this, they are associated with the actions of the three aggregates of conditions. For the heretics, because of their attachment and infatuation with the cause, they cannot understand this. Because of the beginningless proliferation, the habits of evil deeds are accumulated, therefore it is proclaimed as the Alaya-vijnana. Because of the state of ignorance, the seven consciousnesses arising from karma, like the waves of the great ocean, are constantly continuous, free from the faults of impermanence, contrary to the ego-grasping, and are completely the arising of self-nature purity. That is not the arising and ceasing of consciousness, but the seven, such as mind and consciousness, are momentary. Arising from the cause of unreal parikalpita, focusing on the activities and differences of shapes, attached and infatuated with names and characteristics, not understanding the images and characteristics manifested by one's own mind, not experiencing happiness and suffering, not being the cause of liberation, but names and characteristics, and driven and produced by the desire arising from afflictions, focusing on its cause. These are called the grasping faculties."

Because after being completely exhausted and ceased, it does not arise immediately, nor does it allow others to enter. Abiding in the meditative absorption of cessation of perception and feeling, not experiencing the happiness and suffering of one's own mind's conceptualizations. Yogis who are skilled in the four dhyanas, truths, and liberations will transform into the wisdom of liberation. If the Tathagatagarbha, which is proclaimed as the Alaya-vijnana, is not completely transformed, then the seven entering consciousnesses will not cease. Why is that? Because the various consciousnesses enter with it as the cause and with it as the object. The yoga of Sravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and heretics is not the realm of all yogis. Whoever realizes the selflessness of persons and fully grasps the individual and common characteristics of the skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas, the Tathagatagarbha will enter. By seeing the five dharmas, nature, and the selflessness of dharmas, if the sequence of connecting the stages of the bhumis is transferred to another place, it will return, while the path of other heretical views cannot move. Therefore, abiding greatly in the immovable ground of the Bodhisattva, one will obtain the ten paths of the Samadhi truth gate. Because the Buddhas of Samadhi have correctly grasped it, therefore the inconceivable Dharma of the Buddha, and observing one's own aspirations, turning back from the correct edge of the Samadhi gate, through one's own wisdom to know one's own noble ones, the path of yoga that Sravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and all heretics cannot commonly possess, one will obtain the ten paths of the noble lineage, wisdom, the mind-made body, and the Samadhi of non-effort. Therefore, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have great wisdom and desire excellence should purify the Tathagatagarbha, which is proclaimed as the Alaya-vijnana. O great wisdom, if the Alaya-vijnana, which is proclaimed as the Tathagatagarbha, does not exist in it, then O great wisdom, the Tathagatagarbha, the Alaya-vijnana
