Sharadvati's son, these four are to be abandoned by the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who wishes to manifest the unexcelled perfect complete enlightenment. What are the four? Sharadvati's son, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should abandon evil friends. Sharadvati's son, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should abandon associating with women. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva should abandon the speech of the naked ascetics and the secret words of the Lokayatas. Sharadvati's son, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should abandon the decline of wrong views. Sharadvati's son, these four dharmas are to be abandoned by the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Sharadvati's son, just like these four dharmas, I have not truly seen any other dharma that causes obstruction. Sharadvati's son, therefore, one who has truly entered the Great Vehicle should abandon these four dharmas, and after abandoning them, whoever wishes to manifest the unexcelled perfect complete enlightenment should always cultivate and practice the dharma. One should practice many times. What are the four? Sharadvati's son, whether it is a Buddha, a Bodhisattva, or a Shravaka, whoever teaches and subsequently reveals the categories of dharma of the Bodhisattva Pitaka, one should always rely on and practice the virtuous friend, and one should practice many times. Sharadvati's son, furthermore, in order to avert association with women, the Bodhisattva should always rely on going forth, truly going forth, and dwelling in solitary places, and one should attend to them and show them respect. Sharadvati's son, furthermore, in order to avert the naked ascetics and the Lokayatas, the Bodhisattva should hold, fully understand, and not forget those dharmas, and should engage in yoga. Sharadvati's son, furthermore, in order to avert wrong views, the Bodhisattva should always rely on and attend to the correct view of the great emptiness. Bhagavan

Thus he spoke. After the Sugata had spoken thus. Then the Teacher spoke again: Women who are seductive should be completely abandoned. Evil friends should also be abandoned. For the sake of averting wrong views, worldly amusements should be completely abandoned. Whoever relies on women, Likewise, evil friends, Likewise, worldly amusements, Whoever relies on wrong views, By relying on wrong views and the like, Will quickly go to places of no leisure. The perfection of faith in the Buddha, And leisure are extremely difficult to find. Whoever desires to rely on evil, That becomes the realm of evil deeds. Practicing the realm of evil deeds, Will go to the realm of the evil ones. Whoever has entered the path of enlightenment, Therefore, one should not rely on women. Like a pig smeared with impurity, One should completely abandon and keep far away. Whoever teaches what is not Dharma, One should not rely on evil friends. If one relies on the practice of what is not Dharma, The row of the mind will become dark. Whatever is held by the naked ones, One should not rely on worldly amusements. However much one relies on gentleness, At that time, one will attain the object. Having abandoned all of those, Wrong views should also be abandoned. The root of samsara is that, Here I have taught. Having abandoned all evil dharmas, If one practices the practice of enlightenment, Whatever excellent dharmas I have previously taught, All should be practiced. On that path, whoever is diligent, Manifestation and pure conduct, And good virtuous friends, And the Buddhas and the Shravakas. On that, one should rely on emptiness. Great emptiness has no emptiness, On the object of emptiness Dharma, One should not diligently practice. Dharma and likewise the object, Will not become focused on emptiness. On whatever the world does not enter, That is emptiness, thus he said. If one practices the practice of enlightenment, On whatever I have previously taught, On that, a wise child, By no means should depart. If one practices the practice of enlightenment, Whoever has heard my Dharma, On that practice of enlightenment, It is not lost for the sake of other causes. Those I have realized myself, I have taught the supreme Dharma. Wherever emptiness is without attachment, That is the straight path.

No. (If) abiding under the Bodhi tree, subduing the demons of evil wisdom, whatever inconceivable Dharma I have realized is the Dharma-nature of all Dharmas. I have manifested enlightenment and become a Buddha, and I also proclaim this Dharma. By what cause and condition do I turn the wheel of Dharma? I have attained the ultimate and perfect Buddhahood. If there is one who subdues the demons of evil wisdom, who will attain Bodhi and become a Buddha, who desires to abide under the Bodhi tree, he should cultivate emptiness. If there is one who wishes to turn the unsurpassed wheel of Dharma, to turn the wheel of the true Dharma, who wishes to instruct the Sangha, he should cultivate emptiness. If there is one who abides by the ten powers, becomes fearless, and wishes to proclaim the lion's roar, he should cultivate emptiness. Constantly in all worlds, wherever fame and reputation arise, by cultivating emptiness, I have reached the other shore. If there is one who follows my teachings, a Bodhisattva of great wisdom, he will attain the supreme Bodhi of unsurpassed wisdom. If there is one who follows my teachings, a Bhikshu or Bhikshuni, just as I am attaining now, he will also attain the supreme Bodhi. Regarding this, not only Bhikshus and Bhikshunis should cultivate, but even all sentient beings should learn, then they will easily attain Bodhi. If one cultivates this supreme Dharma, I will arise without attachment. With the undefiled Dharmas, I attain the undefiled Bodhi. If one cultivates those Dharmas, then wisdom will be without defilement and will not diminish. For the sake of attaining Bodhi, this is the only path, one should constantly cultivate emptiness. Therefore, Bodhisattvas, for the benefit of sentient beings, should learn the Dharma that all Dharmas are empty.
