Moreover, who would truly believe except for a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who has truly entered into the supreme intention? O Steadfast Intelligence, we, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, should become a refuge for beings who have no refuge, a protector for those who have no protection, an island for beings who have no island, a friend for beings who have no friend, and we should perfectly accomplish the wisdom of the Great Vehicle Buddha, the great wisdom. We should properly connect immeasurable and countless beings with the undefiled Dharmas. Although one thus puts on armor, if it should happen that those beings need to be given heaps of jewels equal to Mount Sumeru in the morning, and similarly at noon, and in the evening, or day and night, heaps of jewels equal to Mount Sumeru need to be given, and those beings still would not be satisfied by that, and if there are also places where those conditions would cause them to fall into evil destinies, then, alas! We should seek such a Dharma that those beings would temporarily generate the thought of this world filled with jewels of the three thousand great thousand world systems as being like spit. What need is there to mention accumulating other possessions? A wise Bodhisattva-Mahasattva will thoroughly discriminate regarding that heap of jewels in this way: 'This is the root of desire, hatred, and delusion. It is the root of the suffering of the hells for beings, the root of the suffering of the birth-place of animals, the root of the suffering of the realm of Yama, and the root of the various causes of karma.' Therefore, from that, he obtains a mind of peace and does not look at that heap of jewels. A wise person will think of that heap of jewels as not being a heap of jewels, but as a heap of the hells for beings, because beings who are particularly attached to it will fall into evil destinies.

One should discriminate individually in this way. Steadfast Wisdom, let alone how many sentient beings there are in the three thousand great thousand worlds. Steadfast Wisdom, after a complete examination, how many worlds are there in the east like the sands of the Ganges River? Similarly, in all ten directions, in those worlds, how many sentient beings are there with form, or without form, or with perception, or without perception, or neither with perception nor without perception, and how many are postulated in the realm of sentient beings? All of them, without any order, attain a human body. In order to bring happiness to these sentient beings, as soon as the thought of enlightenment arises, a person appears who prepares the means of happiness such as forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile objects for these sentient beings. Moreover, all these sentient beings are carried on the shoulders or on the head, and held for a kalpa or more than a kalpa. These sentient beings are allowed to stay with him in whatever way they wish to behave. Even the excrement and urine of these sentient beings are taken with one hand and thrown into other worlds. Steadfast Wisdom, what do you think? Then, will that person serve those sentient beings separately with many means of happiness? He replied: World Honored One, that person will serve them with many means of happiness. The World Honored One said: Steadfast Wisdom, you should believe and understand. That person serves with such means of happiness, and any son or daughter of good family, with the mind of saving all sentient beings, after generating the mind of unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, just like this, in order to hear the categories of Dharma of the Bodhisattva Pitaka, from which the roots of virtue of the Bodhisattva can mature, until diligently seeking the Dharma of the Bodhisattva, the Dharma of the Bodhisattva completely...
