ཤེས་པ་བསོད་ནམས་སུ་ཉེ་བར་འགྲོ་བ་ནི་ལྷ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ནང་དུ་སྐྱེ་བ་ཡོངས་སུ་ལེན་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །དེ་སྐད་ཅེས་བཀའ་སྩལ་ནས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་སྨན་ཆེན་གྱིས་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་གསོལ་ཏོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་རྣམས་སུ་ཇི་ལྟར་སྐྱེ་བ་ཡོངས་སུ་ལེན་པ་ལགས། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། སྨན་ཆེན་བསོད་ནམས་མ་ཡིན་པར་ཉེ་བར་འགྲོ་བའི་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་རྣམས་སུ་སྐྱེ་བ་ཡོངས་སུ་ལེན་པ་དེ་ཉོན་ཅིག །སྨན་ཆེན་འདི་ལ་སེམས་ཅན་ལས་མི་དགེ་བས་ཡོངས་སུ་ཟིན་པ་ནི་སེམས་ཅན་གྱི་རིས་ནས་འཆི་འཕོ་སྟེ། ཤི་འཕོས་པ་དེ་འདི་སྙམ་དུ་མི་དེ་ནི་ང་ཉིད་ཡིན་ཏེ། སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་འདི་ནས་ཤི་འཕོས་སོ། འདི་གཉིས་ནི་བདག་གིས་ཕ་མ་ཡིན་ནོ་སྙམ་དུ་དྲན་པ་སྐྱེའོ། །ཤི་འཕོ་པ་དེའི་ལུས་དེ་ནི་ཐ་མལ་པའི་གཟུགས་ཀྱི་རང་བཞིན་གྱི་རྣམ་པ་དང་ལྡན་པར་འགྱུར་ཏེ། ཡན་ལག་སྐྱེས་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱང་དེ་དང་འདྲ་བ་ཉིད་དུ་སྣང་ངོ་། །དང་པོ་ཤི་འཕོས་པ་དེ་མྱ་ངན་གྱིས་གཡེངས་ནས་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་སྣ་ཚོགས་སྣང་བ་མཐོང་ངོ་། །རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ་དང་པོ་ཤི་འཕོས་པ་དེའི་ལས་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་དང་འབྲེལ་བར་འགྱུར་ཏེ། ཕྱོགས་ཁ་ཅིག་ན་ནི་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བའི་ས་གཞི་ཁྲག་གིས་གཏོར་བ་མཐོང་ནས་དེ་དེར་ཆགས་པ་སྐྱེས་པར་འགྱུར་རོ། །དེ་ཆགས་པར་འགྱུར་ནས་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བའི་ལུས་འགྲུབ་པར་འགྱུར་ཏེ། དེའི་རྣམ་པར་ཤེས་པ་དེ་ལས་ཀྱི་རྐྱེན་གྱི་དབང་གི་ཆུའི་རྗེན་ཤུལ་ཤིན་ཏུ་རུལ་ཅིང་མཆོག་ཏུ་མི་ཞིམ་པ་མནམ་པའི་ནང་དུ་ལུས་སྐྱེ་བ་ཡོངས་སུ་ལེན་ཏེ། དཔེར་ན་མི་གཙང་བ་དང་། ལྗན་ ལྗིན་མནམ་པོའི་རྐྱེན་ཀྱིས་སྲིན་བུ་སྐྱེ་བ་དང་། དཔེར་ན་ཞོ་དང་། སྦྲང་རྩི་དང་། ཆང་མནམ་པོར་གྱུར་པའི་ཕྱིར་སྲོག་ཆགས་སྐྱེ་བར་འགྱུར་རོ། །སྨན་ཆེན་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་སེམས་ཅན་རྣམས་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བར་འབྱུང་བར་འགྱུར་རོ། །དེ་སྐད་ཅེས་བཀའ་སྩལ་ནས། བཟང་སྐྱོང་གིས་ཐལ་མོ་སྦྱར་ཏེ་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་གསོལ་ཏོ། །བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་སེམས་ཅན་དམྱལ་བ་པའི་སེམས་ཅན་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཁ་དོག་གི་རྣམ་པ་ཇི་ལྟ་བུ་ལགས། ལུས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་པ་ནི་ཇི་ལྟ་བུར་འགྲུབ་པར་འགྱུར། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། བཟང་སྐྱོང་དེར་ཁྲག་གི་ནང་དུ་སྐྱེ་བ་གང་ཡིན་པ་དེ་དག་ནི་ཁྲག་གི་མདོག་འདྲ་བར་འབྱུང་བར་འགྱུར་རོ། །ཆུ་ཀླུང་རྒལ་དུ་མེད་པ་དག་གི་ནང་དུ་སྐྱེ་བ་གང་ཡིན་པ་དེ་དག་ནི་སྤྲིན་སྔོན་པོའི་ཁ་དོག་ལྟར་འགྱུར་རོ།

When wisdom approaches merit, it will completely obtain the result of being born in the heavens. After saying this, the Great Physician reported to the World Honored One: World Honored One, how does consciousness completely obtain the result of being born in the hells of sentient beings? The World Honored One taught: Great Physician, listen, sentient beings approach non-virtue and completely obtain the result of being born in hell. Great Physician, here, sentient beings are completely controlled by non-virtuous karma, and they die and transfer from the category of sentient beings. After death and transfer, they will have the thought: That person is me, and I have died and transferred from this hell of sentient beings. These two are my parents. The body of the deceased transferee will have the nature of an ordinary shape, and the limbs will also appear the same as before. Initially, the deceased transferee is confused by sorrow and will see various hells of sentient beings appearing. The consciousness of the initial deceased transferee will be connected with the hells of sentient beings, and in some places, they will see the land of hell smeared with blood, and then they will develop attachment there. After attachment arises, the body of hell beings will be formed, and his consciousness, under the influence of karma, will completely obtain the birth of the body in the traces of extremely rotten and extremely unpleasant smelling sewage. For example, worms are born because of unclean things and foul smells, and for example, creatures are born because yogurt, honey, and wine emit odors. Great Physician, in the same way, sentient beings will also be produced in hell. After saying this, Good Protector folded his palms and reported to the World Honored One: World Honored One, what is the color and shape of the hell beings? How will the shape of the body be formed? The World Honored One taught: Good Protector, there, those who are born in blood will appear the same color as blood. Those who are born in impassable rivers will become like the color of blue clouds.

Those beings who are born in the salty river will become flesh-like mushrooms. Their bodies will become youthful and vibrant, like a king's son who is served with nine kinds of pleasures in succession. Good protector, there their bodies will become large, reaching eight cubits in height, except for the head. Their nails will be long and curved, turning brown, and their hands and feet will become ugly. If the people of Jambudvipa were to walk like hell beings, they would die immediately upon being seen. Good protector, furthermore, although the beings of hell eat food, they will not feel any happiness at all. After saying these words, the Great Physician said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, what food do those beings eat? The Blessed One replied: Great Physician, in that hell, they wander around and see what appears to be red copper and red brass from a very far distance. Having seen these, they will utter words of food, saying: Those who want to eat, come here. They all gather together, hold out their palms, jump into the place where copper and brass are boiling, hold out their palms, open their mouths, and eagerly eat the food of boiling copper and brass. As they eat the burning copper and brass, their insides will also burn intensely. Great Physician, they are deceived by things that look like food and experience great suffering. Great Physician, the consciousness of those hell beings will remain in the body of bones and will not separate from the bones. Because the consciousness of the hell beings does not separate, they will not die. They are tormented by hot waves, and there is no food to eat there. There, they will see the pleasure gardens of the gods, hundreds and thousands of trees, flowers in full bloom, and vast green meadows. Seeing these pleasure gardens, they are very happy and say: Friends, if we touch these pleasure gardens, there will be a comfortable breeze blowing, come here.

Gathered together, they quickly enter that delightful garden. Having entered it, they briefly generate a sense of happiness. They see that the flowers and leaves that arise from those trees turn into swords. Those swords cut off their limbs and cause them to depart. Having been cut by the swords, they emit great sounds of extreme suffering and scatter in all directions. As they scatter, due to their own karma, Yama's servants, holding saws and hammers in their hands, with distorted faces, hair ablaze, and a chain of burning bodies wrapped around them, brandishing weapons, make sounds from behind, saying, 'You all stop! Where are you running now? Experience this situation created by your own karma!' O Medicine King, in this way, the beings of the hell realm will generate disgust. O Medicine King, after another seven days, the beings of the hell realm will experience karma. Just as bees fly to flowers, due to the causes and conditions of various things, the consciousness of hell beings will fully take birth. After they initially die and transmigrate, they are involuntarily led away, suffering and displeased, entering into great darkness. Like being led by barbarians, they think, 'Alas! Now I have lost the radiant Jambudvipa (Southern Jambudvipa), completely abandoned relatives and friends, manifested and abide in the hell realm, and cannot see the path to the heavens!' Like a silkworm spinning its thread, they take birth very quickly. They know that they are being tied by a rope around their necks. O Good Protector, in this way, beings will take birth in the hell realm, and in this way, various causes and conditions will arise for them. Then, Good Protector makes a "putza" sound, joins his palms, and takes refuge in the Bhagavan. The king's son, Medicine King, also says this: 'Because of hearing the Dharma, may I not become a being who falls from samsara. May I not fully take birth in the hell realm.'
