The twenty-ninth chapter from the hundred thousand chapters of the Dharma-paryāyas of the Great Noble Heap of Jewels, namely, 'The Question of King Udayana'. One fascicle. In Indian language: Ārya Udayana Vatsa Rājā Paripṛcchā nāma Parivarta. In Tibetan language: The chapter called 'The Question of King Udayana'. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was in Kauśāmbī, in the Yangjian Garden, together with a great Sangha of five hundred monks, and many Bodhisattvas, great beings. At that time, the queen Mdu'i bu mo, unmatched, seized by jealousy and stinginess, especially targeting the queen Blue Lotus Color, requested King Udayana to be aware of the gods. The five hundred women, including the queen Blue Lotus Color, were committing misconduct with the ascetic Gautama. For this reason, I pray to the gods, please act as you know, and she caused dissension with false words. Then, King Udayana, because of the dissension caused by the queen Mdu'i bu mo, unmatched, arose anger, strife, and rage towards the Blessed One and the Sangha of the Hearers. Overwhelmed by dissatisfaction, anger, and intimidation, in order to kill the queen Blue Lotus Color, he drew his bow, took an arrow, and prepared to shoot. Then, immediately, the queen Blue Lotus Color prostrated to the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Complete Buddha, and having prostrated to the Blessed One and praised the Blessed One, she entered into the Samadhi of Loving-kindness. Then, in this way, by the power of the Buddha, the arrow immediately returned, burning in the sky above the head of King Udayana himself, burning intensely, completely spreading, burning with flames.

Having become one, they went back and forth, and sat down, and then went to the place where the king of Banga appeared, and sat on the left side of the place where the king of Bada appeared. It did not touch the body. This happened two or three times. Then, the turquoise-colored consort said to the king of Bada, "Great king, if it is so, if you prostrate to the Thus-Gone One, you will also be well." Then, the king of Bada appeared, terrified and frightened, became weak and had goosebumps, and fell to the ground, and said in verse to the turquoise-colored consort: "Are you a goddess or a Gandharva woman? A flesh-eating woman or a Rakshasa woman? How should I seize you? Please tell me what I asked. There is no woman who cannot be harmed by weapons. I have never heard, seen, or known this anywhere. I am a strong and diligent person. Because I am well-versed in the knowledge of archery, my arrow will not be eaten by ghosts, and will never miss. Whether it is a monkey or a bird, a person or a target, whatever I shoot at, will never miss. Today, this arrow that was shot has returned in the opposite way, and without harming the body, it sits in front of me. Having heard the words of others, I desire to be good to you, I seek refuge in you. Please save me, who is suffering. I will never do such a thing again, please forgive the suffering one today. Please remember your previous happiness, please be happy, and calm your anger." Then, the turquoise-colored consort said in verse to the king of Bada: "I am not a god, nor a Gandharva, not a flesh-eating woman, nor a Rakshasa woman. I am the turquoise-colored consort, the Shravaka woman of the Lord of the World. God, I am full of love for you, my mind is peaceful. Please let your mind be completely inclined towards the Lord of the World, the All-Pervading One. It is said that in millions of kalpas, those men and women who are good at cultivating loving-kindness and abide in loving-kindness will not depart. Who knows perfectly like hail the ripening crops.

Without harm, I rejoice in his teachings. All worldly protectors say that women should be denigrated. Not looking at women is praised by the worldly protectors. Buddhas and Pratyekabuddhas, Bodhisattvas and Shravakas, do not associate with women, that is the realm of children. Associating with women is said to be a net of demons everywhere. Attachment to sins is like the trace of complete destruction and disturbance. The unwise are attached to women, commit sinful deeds, and seek to abandon wisdom, leading beings to evil destinies. The wise, seeking liberation, should not associate with women, like jumping into a pit without ashes or smoke. Making pleasing pronouncements, and even looking, binds, and falling into unbearable hell, you should not listen to the words of women. I have no anger, my mind is very joyful, to the all-pervading worldly protector, please let your heart be very joyful. Great King, please proceed, you should see the best of the two-legged, and whatever Dharma he teaches, you should listen without distraction. Then, King Badsai, urged by the queen Consort Blue Lotus, with the king's great power, the king's great wealth, and surrounded by a great multitude of people, clearing the way in front, quickly, with rapid speed, went before the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One was beautiful, pleasing, with subdued senses, a peaceful mind, disciplined, having gone beyond the supreme of peace, having gone beyond the supreme of samadhi, appearing noble like a golden pillar, beautiful with glory, radiant, bright, and shining, his body well adorned with the thirty-two marks of a great being, surrounded by a Sangha of monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen, and Bodhisattvas, and seen by gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, and non-humans gazing in front.
