The nature of reality is without existence. The suchness and the non-erroneous suchness are peaceful, unceasing, and free from defilements. Defilements are without characteristics and without pacifiers, and the defilements themselves are also non-existent. Whoever sees this great and sacred Dharma will become all-knowing. Liberating and causing liberation, possessing the nature of peaceful Dharma, being a peacemaker, wonderful and without change. The Blessed One, with gods and the world, appears confused like a mirage in spring. All conceptualizations are self-nature, overpowering, without self and other, distinguishing male and female. Sentient beings suffer there, generated by various causes, and the mind is also like that. There is no action and no result, and whatever is experienced, that also does not exist. Thus, we know the conduct of the Sugatas, the Buddhas. Therefore, now the Sugata has a peaceful mind, the senses are peaceful and certain. Possessing a virtuous mind, pure, immaculate, and offering with Dharma. Whatever merit arises from praising the Buddha, the lord of the world and the noble ones. Thus, the glorious and radiant lord of the two-legged, can fully know all the ripened results. May all beings in this world, through this root of virtue of ours, attain the state of omniscience. May all these merits be dedicated for the benefit of all beings, and may all beings be victorious. Then, the Blessed One, knowing that the excellent intention of those gods of clear light is completely pure, and that they possess the abundant courage to follow the Dharma, and that their retinue will also obtain excellent results, then he smiled. Then, the venerable Ashvajit asked the Blessed One in verse: The supreme guide who benefits the world, the all-knowing one who subdues all. The Sugata, possessing compassion, does not smile without a reason. I beseech the glorious and radiant lord of the two-legged, the guide of gods and humans, to speak to the world with compassion. Transcender of the world, why do you smile, please tell us the reason. Hearing that, the minds of all beings will be delighted, The guide will surely measure the actions and results of liberation. Therefore, in order to liberate the world with gods and humans from the suffering of this cycle of existence. By teaching the eightfold noble path, one will be delivered from this ocean of existence. Having heard the great sage's words, the excellent and virtuous words possessing eight branches.

May all beings seek Buddhahood, diligently engage in virtue, and rejoice. May they, with minds free from doubt and pure, generate the power of vigorous effort. Acting in accordance with the teachings of the Sugata, may they become sons in harmony with you. May all the retinues, having no other refuge, look to the face of you, the guide. Eliminating the dualistic thoughts that are the root of beings, we beseech you to grant teachings and instructions. Bhagavan, may these beings of this world remain in your service and listen. Pour down the rain of nectar-like well-spoken scriptures, so that those who thirst may be satisfied. Great guide, may these retinues of yours seek the qualities of Buddhahood. Just as a son who has been away for a long time looks to his mother, so do we look to your face. Sugata gods, grant prophecies and instructions, and also reveal the meaning of the smile. If the supreme words of the protector are heard, the great purpose of the world will surely be attained. Who today will increase virtue and seek the meaning of fame? Who will find the treasure of the guide's qualities? We wish to hear that. May the retinues of the Victorious Ones, having heard those words spoken by you, rejoice. May they demonstrate this conduct, and also meditate on the power of samadhi and wisdom. Then, the Bhagavan, in verses, again spoke to the venerable Aśvajit: Aśvajit, your eloquence is excellent, well-timed, and born, it is truly good. Just like an emanation of the Sugata, your intelligence will arise. Great courage will arise, therefore, whatever you have asked. I will speak all those prophecies and answers, may all listen with peaceful senses. The gods of clear light, with pure minds, Have seen the Buddhas of the past. Having seen these sentient beings without a protector in the world, they truly entered into enlightenment. The excellent path of definite emergence to enlightenment, practiced and cultivated by the Victorious Ones. Whenever someone wishes to go to enlightenment, they will show the way to those who are lost without a guide. If one hears this extremely clear and supreme doctrine, and this unique sound, those who seek the qualities of Buddhahood and train their minds will attain the peace of enlightenment. They will generate strength, be skilled in what is right and wrong, and be transformed by the mind of enlightenment. Joyful like a mother who has given birth to a son, they will sincerely pray for supreme enlightenment. The gods of clear light, this is how they desire enlightenment.
