Chapter Four: The Prophecy of the Asuras Chapter Four: The Prophecy of the Asuras Then, the Blessed One showed the sign that the lord of the asuras, Rāhula, would first generate the mind to make offerings to the Blessed One. Then, the lord of the asuras, Rāhula, together with sixty kotis of asuras and sixty kotis of asura daughters, first made offerings to the Blessed One. Then, all the precious and non-precious things in the great ocean were offered to the Blessed One for the purpose of making offerings. Other precious things that were not in the great ocean were also manifested and offered as offerings. Sixty kotis of chariots of the nature of the seven precious things were also manifested. Each of those chariots also manifested sixty kotis of intelligent horses. Those horses also had nets of bells made of the seven precious things, ornaments of gold on their limbs, were endowed with the transformations of the seven precious things, had streamers made of the seven precious things, and were entirely adorned with gold ornaments. In order to adorn those intelligent horses, banners made of the seven precious things were also manifested. Those chariots also had golden banners and were entirely adorned with gold ornaments. The banners of wish-fulfilling jewels also followed those chariots from the sky above. When those chariots moved, they followed; when those chariots stopped, they also stopped. In order to beautify the banners of wish-fulfilling jewels, garlands of the seven precious things were also manifested. The banners of wish-fulfilling jewels also manifested nets of bells made of the seven precious things. The ornaments of the chariots, the ornaments of the jewels, and the ornaments of the banners of wish-fulfilling jewels, when moved by the wind, produced pleasant and delightful sounds that were very comfortable to listen to. For example, when a musician plays a musical instrument with eight branches, it produces pleasant and delightful sounds.
