Unimpeded in his going, those sons of gods who delight in the desire realm and the form realm saw the Blessed One on the path in the middle of the sky, like a newly born king, without any obstruction, like the rising of the sun's orb, and like the full moon surrounded by a multitude of stars. Like the king of gods, Indra, surrounded by a host of gods, and like the Great Brahma surrounded by his Brahma retinue, they saw the Blessed One coming from afar. Having seen him, they were satisfied, content, and delighted, and having rejoiced greatly, they felt joy and happiness. For the purpose of making offerings to the Blessed One, they scattered divine flowers such as utpala flowers, kumuda flowers, white lotuses, mandarava flowers, great mandarava flowers, yongs 'du flowers, great yongs 'du flowers, manjusaka flowers, great manjusaka flowers, hrasva flowers, great hrasva flowers, beautiful colored flowers, great beautiful colored flowers, wheel flowers, great wheel flowers, fragrant flowers, hundred-petaled lotuses, thousand-petaled lotuses, hair-light flowers, star-joy flowers, all-protecting flowers, constantly protecting flowers, flowers that always bloom, those that are pleasing to the eye, and other flowers as well, upon the Blessed One. They also raised umbrellas, victory banners, and flags. They played hundreds of thousands of melodious musical instruments. Then, in such an adorned setting, with a rain of flowers falling, and a rain of incense, garlands, ointments, powders, garments, umbrellas, victory banners, and flags falling, accompanied by the sounds of musical instruments, songs, and music, and with hundreds of thousands of goddesses singing, in an instant, in a moment, in a flash, the Blessed One arrived at the courtyard of the Willow Tree Palace. Together with the Bodhisattvas and the great Hearers, he entered the hall of the Great King Vaishravana. As soon as the Blessed One sat down on the ground, at that time, the great earth began to shake gently, softly, and without violence, without harming all sentient beings. Then, the Four Great Kings, knowing that the Blessed One had arrived at the courtyard of the Willow Tree Palace, quickly and swiftly, with their consorts and retinues, and with their relatives and retinues, carrying flowers, incense, garlands, and ointments...

After that, they went to where the Blessed One was, and bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One. They offered flowers, incense, garlands, and unguents to the Blessed One as they could, and with their palms joined, they bowed to the Blessed One and sat down on one side. All those consorts, retinues, and assembled attendants also bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, and paid homage with their palms joined. The Blessed One, beginning with the Four Great Kings, made such a discourse to those assembled attendants. From among the retinues of dragons, yakshas, gandharvas, kumbhandas, and rakshasas, twelve thousand beings generated the mind of enlightenment. From among the consorts of those great kings, millions of women generated the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Then, the Lord of Secrets, Vajrapani, together with his consort retinue, his relatives and attendants, and his attendants adorned with immeasurable qualities, holding flowers, incense, fragrances, garlands, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, and flags, together with cymbals, drums, and musical instruments, went to the presence of King Vaishravana, and then went to where the Blessed One was, bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated seven times, and offered flowers, incense, fragrances, garlands, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, and flags to the Blessed One as they could, played cymbals and music, bowed to the Blessed One, and together with the monastic community of monks and the assembly of Bodhisattvas, invited the Blessed One to their own retinue's courtyard. Those Bodhisattvas and great Shravakas, and the retinue endowed with all things, also sat on their respective cushions.
