Chapter Ten: The Chapter of Vairochana. Chapter Ten: The Chapter of Vairochana. The Great Extensive Sutra called "Buddha's Extraordinary Greatness". Volume Twelve. Sons of good family, in the past, immeasurable kalpas ago, beyond the number of atoms in a world system, even further back in time, at that time, in that era, in the center of a world system called "Ocean of Immaculate Purity, Illuminating All Directions," there arose a world system called "Glorious Sound." That world system, "Glorious Sound," was situated upon an ocean of many precious lotuses, perfectly pure and free from all defilements. It was surrounded by a retinue of world systems equal to the number of atoms in Mount Meru. It was round in shape, adorned with limitless foundations and ornaments, encircled by three hundred groves of various precious trees, covered entirely by clouds of all precious ornaments, and adorned with immaculate and radiantly illuminating Mount Merus, cities, and dwellings. It was a place where food, drink, and clothing were enjoyed according to one's thoughts, possessing various describable forms of adornment. In the center of that world system, "Glorious Sound," there was an ocean of fragrant water called "Radiant Purity." From that ocean arose a Mount Meru of flowers, called "Banner of Adornment Radiating Flower Light," surrounded and adorned by a retinue of ten precious thrones. Upon that Mount Meru, there was a great forest called "Circle of Branches, Blossoming with Precious Flowers," adorned with countless thousands of incense banners raised high. Countless tiers of flower houses were adorned with various garlands. Tiers of jewel houses were arranged. Countless precious vajra banners adorned it everywhere. Countless garlands of precious Pundarika flowers surrounded it. It was adorned everywhere with countless incense and precious lotuses. It was filled with countless clouds of pleasing sounds of various musical instruments. It was illuminated everywhere by countless clouds of incense and fragrant smoke radiating light.

There are ten hundred thousand kotis of cities surrounded by various kinds of beings. For example, the mandala of the great forest branches, named "Jewel Flower Blossoming." On its eastern side, there is a great city called "Radiant Light," the abode of the human king, surrounded by a retinue of ten hundred thousand kotis of cities. Made entirely of jewels, it is seven thousand yojanas in length and width. Adorned and surrounded by various jewel trees and seven rows of palm trees. Jewel ponds filled with fragrant water. Surrounded by seven layers of jewel lotuses, adorned with utpala flowers, lotuses, kumuda lilies, and pundarika flowers. Surrounded by seven rows of tala trees emitting various kinds of ornaments. Exquisitely adorned with jewel decorations and tiered pavilions. Above, it is covered with a net of gold, a net of bells, a net of flower garlands, a net of indranila jewels, and a net of vajra lotuses. Beneath the jewel trees are nets of flowers, and the pleasing sound of various musical instruments pervades everywhere. Adorned with various incense and garland ornaments. Around it are ten hundred thousand kotis of gates, all of which are made of various jewels. In front of each of these gates are seven jewel stone victory banners adorned with all kinds of ornaments. Also surrounding it are ten hundred thousand kotis of edible tree gardens. All of these edible tree gardens are made of incense trees and various jewel trees, emitting fragrance and producing various pleasing bird sounds. In the great city called "Radiant Cloud," all those born there have attained magical powers due to the maturation of their karma. They travel in the sky, enjoying themselves together with humans and gods, fully enjoying the land of wish-fulfillment. Then, on the southern side, there is a place called the city of the gods, with various tree flowers. Then, on the southern side, there is a place called the city of the nagas, "Completely Perfected."

存在着。此后在南方一侧，有夜叉的城市，名为金刚光辉种种胜幢。此后在南方一侧，有乾闼婆的城市，名为无量妙宫。与其相邻的是阿修罗的城市，名为轮之彩。与其相邻的是善妙叶之城市，名为珍宝种种妙好之中心。与其相邻的是婆罗门的城市，名为庄严妙好种种。如是等等，被百千万亿十万个城市所围绕。那些城市，每一个都以众多装饰品装饰，直至被百千万亿个城市所围绕。在那名为大森林枝条之坛城，珍宝花朵盛开的中央，名为菩提心珍宝花朵显现，一切珍宝之树。枝条茂密且宽广的坛城，极度繁盛而从各方面围绕。珍宝花朵，形状和形态各异，众多且极其繁盛，如同香和灯，一切珍宝之颜色的花鬘众多，广大之云普遍散布。珍宝之光向下照射，遍布一切刹土，以光明坛城清净之云装饰。十方以众多光芒照亮，一切装饰都以珍宝种种众多装饰。一切乐器的声音极其发出。一切宝王中生出菩萨之身。十方众多种种花朵极度生出。在其前方，有大莲花，名为花蕊光芒照射之坛城，广达百千万亿由旬。根扎于香、珍宝和金刚之海中。茎以珍宝种种之颜色变化为种种形态。具有珍宝各异、无量之花瓣。以珍宝光芒照射和香之花蕊坛城装饰。于花心上，布满珍宝无边颜色之莲花坛城，不可言说。

Then on the south side, there is the city of gandharvas, called Immeasurable Excellent Mansion. Adjacent to it is the city of asuras, called Wheel of Color. Adjacent to it is the city of Excellent Petals, called Center of Various Excellent Jewels. Adjacent to it is the city of brahmins, called Ornament Excellent Various. Like these and others, surrounded by a hundred million trillion ten thousand cities. Each of those cities is adorned with many ornaments, up to being surrounded by a hundred million trillion cities. In the center of that great forest called the Circle of Branches, Blossoming Jewel Flowers, there is a tree of all jewels called Essence Bodhicitta Jewel Flower Manifestation. The circle of dense and vast branches, extremely flourishing, surrounds it from all sides. Jewel flowers of various shapes and forms, numerous and extremely flourishing, like incense and lamps, garlands of all jewel colors, vast clouds spread everywhere. The light of jewels shines downwards, pervading all fields, adorned with clouds of pure light circles. The ten directions are illuminated by many rays of light, all ornaments are adorned with various jewels. The sound of all musical instruments arises greatly. From all the kings of jewels, the body of bodhisattvas arises. In the ten directions, many various flowers arise exceedingly. In front of it, there is a great lotus, called the Circle of Radiating Light of Flower Stamens, which is a hundred million yojanas wide. Its roots are embedded in the ocean of incense, jewels, and vajras. Its stems are transformed into various forms by the colors of various jewels. It has immeasurable petals of various jewels. It is adorned with radiating jewel light and a circle of fragrant stamens. On the heart, the lotus mandala is covered with endless colors of jewels, which is indescribable.
