They will not speak meaningless idle words, they will not become wrathful, they will not become harmful-minded, they will not become holders of wrong views, they will not live by wrong livelihood. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva trains in this way, they will not be born in the long-lived gods, they will not completely hold to broken precepts, they will not completely hold to what is not the true Dharma, they will not be born by the power of meditation and meditative absorption. Why is that? Because the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva possesses skillful means, they possess the skillful means by which they will not be born in the long-lived gods. Subhuti, what are those skillful means? It is like this: with regard to this Perfection of Wisdom, how does the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, endowed with skillful means, also abide in meditation, and not be born by the power of meditation? In this way, they practice these skillful means in yoga. Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva trains in this way, their powers will become completely purified, their fearlessnesses will become completely purified, all the Buddha-dharmas will become completely purified, and they will attain them. The venerable Subhuti asked: Blessed One, when all dharmas are by nature completely pure, Blessed One, at that time, by which dharma does the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva completely purify their powers, completely purify their fearlessnesses, completely purify the Buddha-dharmas, and attain them? After he had spoken, the Blessed One said this to the venerable Subhuti: Subhuti, it is just so, it is just so. Why is that? Subhuti, all dharmas are by nature completely pure. Subhuti, in this way, in the complete purity by nature of all dharmas, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, training in the Perfection of Wisdom, do not become timid or afraid. Subhuti, that is the Perfection of Wisdom. Subhuti, ordinary childish beings do not know or see these dharmas in this way, therefore they do not know or see the suchness of dharmas. Subhuti, for the sake of those sentient beings, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva

When striving with diligence, I shall know the beings unknown only to me, I shall see the beings unseen only to me, I should learn in this teaching. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who learn in this teaching will successively attain powers, will successively attain fearlessness, will successively attain all the Buddhadharmas. Subhuti, when Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas learn in this way, they will truly know the mental conduct and differences of other beings and other individuals, and having truly known, they will transcend to the other side of knowing the mental conduct of others through truly knowing. Subhuti, for example, on the great earth, places without pebbles and places where gold, cat's eye stones, and silver are produced are few. Places on the great earth filled with rubble, gravel, grass, tree stumps, and various thorns are very many. Subhuti, similarly, among beings, those who learn the teaching of the Prajnaparamita, the all-knowing, such Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas are few. Among beings, those who learn the teachings of Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are very many. Subhuti, again, for example, among beings, those who have taken up and abide in the karma to attain the sovereignty of a Chakravartin king are few. Among beings, those who have taken up and abide in the karma to attain the sovereignty of a city king are very many. Subhuti, similarly, among beings, those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have entered this great path, the path of Prajnaparamita, saying, 'I shall awaken to the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment,' are few. Among beings, those beings who have entered the path of Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are very many. Subhuti, again, for example, among beings, those who have taken up
