Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: "Venerable Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is the agent of non-action." The Blessed One said: "Because the agent is without object, and because there is no object among all dharmas." He reported: "Venerable Blessed One, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practice the Perfection of Wisdom?" The Blessed One said: "Subhuti, here, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, when he does not practice form, then he is practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. Likewise, if he does not practice feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, then he is practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. If one does not engage with the cessation of form or non-cessation, that is engaging in the perfection of wisdom. Similarly, if one does not engage with the cessation of feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, or non-cessation, that is engaging in the perfection of wisdom. If one does not engage with form being existent or non-existent, that is engaging in the perfection of wisdom. Similarly, applying this, up to the all-knowingness, from permanence or impermanence, likewise, up to the eye, if one does not engage with purity or impurity, that is engaging in the perfection of wisdom. Why is that? When a Bodhisattva Mahasattva engages in the perfection of wisdom, they do not truly see form as permanent or impermanent. Similarly, they do not truly see happiness or suffering, self or non-self, emptiness or non-emptiness, sign or signless, aspiration or non-aspiration, peace or non-peace, solitude or non-solitude, all afflictions or complete purification, birth or cessation, existence or non-existence, purity or impurity.
