The Perfection of Wisdom is for the sake of not having pervasiveness and return. Reciting three times, it makes the twelve aspects of the Wheel of Dharma. Venerable Lord, the Perfection of Wisdom is for the sake of the emptiness of the nature of non-things, truly showing the nature of all dharmas. Venerable Lord, how should a Bodhisattva, or a follower of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, or a follower of the Hearer Vehicle, or a follower of the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, abide in the Perfection of Wisdom? The Lord said: Sharadvatiputra, just as one should abide in the teacher, and just as one should honor the teacher, so too should one treat the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Sharadvatiputra, for example, this Perfection of Wisdom is the teacher, and the teacher is not other, and the Perfection of Wisdom is not other, the teacher is the Perfection of Wisdom, and the Perfection of Wisdom is the teacher. This Perfection of Wisdom distinguishes the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the Perfectly Awakened Buddhas, and similarly distinguishes the Bodhisattvas, the Solitary Buddhas, the Arhats, and similarly by analogy, even distinguishing the Stream-enterers. This Perfection of Wisdom distinguishes the ten paths of virtuous action in the world, and similarly distinguishes the four dhyanas, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, the five superknowledges, and from the Perfection of Generosity to the Perfection of Wisdom, from inner emptiness to the emptiness of the nature of non-things, all can be distinguished in the world. Similarly, this Perfection of Wisdom distinguishes the ten powers of the Tathagata, and even distinguishes the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, and even distinguishes all-knowingness. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, thought: From where did this question of the venerable Sharadvatiputra come? Topic.

What is the reason for this? Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the Venerable Son of Sharadvati: "Venerable Son of Sharadvati, from where does this question arise? What is its basis?" Having said this, the Venerable Son of Sharadvati said to the Lord of the Gods, Indra: "Kauśika, those Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas who have perfected the Prajñāpāramitā are skilled in means. From the time they first generate the thought of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, the past, the future, and the present, until the time when the sacred Dharma remains, whatever roots of virtue they possess, and those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, together with the Sangha of the Hearers, and the roots of virtue of the Pratyekabuddhas, and the roots of virtue of the Great Vehicle of all sentient beings other than these, all of these are gathered and manifestly collected, made common with all sentient beings, and dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, therefore this question of mine arises. Kauśika, the Prajñāpāramitā of the Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas is that which overcomes the Dāna-pāramitā. Likewise, it overcomes the Śīla-pāramitā, the Kṣānti-pāramitā, the Vīrya-pāramitā, and the Dhyāna-pāramitā. Kauśika, for example, if there are hundreds, thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of blind people, they cannot enter the path, or a village, or a town, or a city, or a country without a guide. Just as all of these have no share in going and coming and are not suitable, so too, Kauśika, the five pāramitās are like blind people. If they do not have the guide of the Prajñāpāramitā, all of them, if they are separated from the Prajñāpāramitā, then it is like this: they have no share in entering the path of perfect enlightenment, or in entering the city of all-knowingness. Kauśika, when the Dāna-pāramitā and the other pāramitās
