Such as giving away the head, eyes, ears, nose, feet, hands, limbs, and small limbs. They also abide in the nature of reality and completely give away. They also think like this: 'I am the giver! These are the receivers! Alas! I am without miserliness! I am the benefactor! I am giving to the beggars! Alas! I am completely giving away everything! I am showing respect to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat!' I practice the perfection of giving. After giving, I also share it with all sentient beings in a non-attached manner, and completely dedicate it to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. May this giving of mine bring happiness to all sentient beings in this very life! May they completely pass into the realm of nirvana without any remainder of aggregates! They are attached to the three attachments and give that giving. What are the three? They are: attachment to self, attachment to others, and attachment to giving. Being attached to those three attachments and giving that giving, Sharadvati's son, this is called the worldly perfection of giving. Why is it called the worldly perfection of giving? Like this, it is practiced together with the world, it is not shaken by the world, and it does not truly transcend. Therefore, it is called worldly. Then, what is the transcendental perfection of giving? It is the complete purification of the three spheres. Among them, Sharadvati's son, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with a mind led by great compassion, gives giving, but does not fixate on giving, nor does he fixate on the giver, nor does he fixate on the receiver, nor is it giving, nor is he pleased with the ripening of that giving. This is called Sharadvati's son, the complete purification of the three spheres. Sharadvati's son, furthermore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva gives giving to all sentient beings, and after giving, he also gives to those sentient beings, but he does not fixate on those sentient beings.

The giver is also not seen at all. There is no manifest joy in the ripening of that giving, and it is completely dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, but even the slightest mark is not seen at all. Sharadvatiputra, that is called the transcendent perfection of giving that transcends the world. Why is it called transcendent? In this way, it transcends the world, surpasses the world, and completely transcends the world. That is called the transcendent perfection of giving that transcends the world. Similarly, the perfection of discipline that abides is worldly, while that which does not abide is transcendent. Just as the perfection of giving was taught, so too should it be applied extensively. The perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, and the perfection of meditation should also be applied in the same way. The perfection of wisdom that abides is also worldly, while that which does not abide is transcendent. Sharadvatiputra, in this way, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva perfects the worldly and the transcendent perfection of giving. Similarly, he perfects up to the perfection of wisdom. That is also, Sharadvatiputra, the Great Vehicle of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the Great Armor, and the faultlessness of the Bodhisattva. The ninth chapter, called "The Chapter on Explaining the Perfections," from the Hundred Thousand Verses on the Perfection of Wisdom. Ninth Chapter, The Chapter on Explanation, latter part.
