Having abandoned the place, the equanimity spoken of by the noble ones is the complete purification of mindfulness. Abiding in the bliss without joy, having accomplished the third dhyana, and having abandoned that bliss as well, since the previous mental pleasure and displeasure have also ceased, therefore it is neither suffering nor pleasure, it is equanimity and complete purification of mindfulness, abiding in the fourth dhyana. Similarly, with a mind of loving-kindness, vast and expansive, without duality, immeasurable, without hatred, without harm, without rivalry, completely perfect, having thoroughly cultivated it, having pervaded one direction, and abiding having cultivated it with faith. Similarly, the second direction, similarly, the third direction, similarly, the fourth direction, similarly, below, above, and directly, in all of everything, having pervaded the world with everything related to it with a mind of loving-kindness, and abiding having cultivated it with faith. Similarly, with a mind of compassion, with a mind of joy, and with a mind of equanimity, having pervaded the world with everything related to it in all of everything, until abiding having cultivated it with faith. These four immeasurables corresponding with dhyana are the great and supreme vehicle of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. When the Bodhisattva Mahasattva enters and arises from those dhyanas themselves with immeasurable forms, signs, and characteristics, those entering and arising from samadhi, having made them common with all sentient beings, in order to perfect the omniscience, this also is the great vehicle of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the son of Sharadvati. When the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with a mind endowed with omniscience, with great compassion as the precursor, in order to abandon afflictions, properly speaks and shows to others those dhyanas, immeasurables, and formless absorptions, elaborating and distinguishing them well, making them clear, and also showing the faults of experiencing the taste of those dhyanas and the emergence from them, this is the Bodhisattva Mahasattva's perfection of giving.

It is so. Any mind generation that possesses all-knowingness, those who suppress and meditate between the first dhyana and the fourth dhyana, abiding in those dhyanas, and other mind generation like this, this non-discrimination of the state of mind of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, Sharadvatiputra Bodhisattva Mahasattva is the flawless morality paramita. Again, any Bodhisattva Mahasattva, without separating from the mind that possesses all-knowingness, thinks like this: For the sake of abandoning all the afflictions of all sentient beings, I shall teach the Dharma to all sentient beings. That patience in those minds, desire and near-perception, and what is definite thought, Sharadvatiputra Bodhisattva Mahasattva is the patience paramita. Again, any Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with the mind that possesses all-knowingness, after making all the roots of virtue done by oneself common with all sentient beings, constantly dedicates to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, that which does not abandon diligence, Sharadvatiputra Bodhisattva Mahasattva is the diligence paramita. Again, any Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with the mind that possesses all-knowingness, enters into dhyana and samadhi and samapatti and liberation, even if entering and rising from samadhi, does not fall into the Shravaka ground or the Pratyekabuddha ground, this is the dhyana paramita of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. Again, any Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with the mind that possesses all-knowingness, in the samapatti of dhyana and immeasurable and formless, in all the limbs of dhyana, with the aspect of impermanence, the aspect of suffering, emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, truly distinguishes as it is, but being completely seized by great compassion, there is no fault of the Shravakas.

Or, not entering into the faultlessness of a Pratyekabuddha either, this is the Perfection of Wisdom of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. Sharadvatiputra, these are the Great Vehicle of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. Furthermore, Sharadvatiputra, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva cultivates the four close placements of mindfulness correctly as they are, and likewise up to the eightfold noble path. At all times, cultivating the Samadhi of Emptiness, the Samadhi of Signlessness, and the Samadhi of Wishlessness, and at all times, cultivating from the ten powers of the Tathagata up to the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. Sharadvatiputra, this is the Great Vehicle of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. Furthermore, Sharadvatiputra, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva enters into loving-kindness and makes the aspiration: 'I shall completely protect all sentient beings,' and thus establishes a mind of benefit for them. Also entering into compassion, he establishes a mind of love for them. Also entering into joy, he makes the aspiration: 'I shall completely liberate all sentient beings.' He also establishes this mind for all sentient beings. Also entering into equanimity, he cultivates the thought: 'May all sentient beings be free from outflows.' And thus he establishes this mind for them. Sharadvatiputra, this is the Perfection of Giving practiced by a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva towards the immeasurable. Furthermore, whatever Bodhisattva-Mahasattva enters into and arises from meditative absorption, the immeasurables, and the formless absorptions, with their aspects, signs, and characteristics, but does not turn back to the Hearer's level or the Pratyekabuddha's level, except for the all-knowingness itself, this is the Perfection of Discipline practiced by a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva in meditative absorption, the immeasurables, and the formless absorptions. When a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, with thoughts endowed with all-knowingness, enters into the equipoise of meditative absorption, the immeasurables, and the formless absorptions,
