Chapter Forty-Four, The Chapter on Gathering. Chapter Forty-Four, The Chapter on Gathering. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, this Prajnaparamita is profound! Blessed One, this Prajnaparamita abides in great activity! This Prajnaparamita abides in unequal activity, immeasurable activity, countless activity, and unequal and equal activity!" When he had said this, the Blessed One said to the venerable Subhuti: "Subhuti, it is so, it is so. Subhuti, this Prajnaparamita abides in great activity. Subhuti, this Prajnaparamita abides in unequal activity, immeasurable activity, countless activity, and unequal and equal activity. Why is that? Subhuti, in this profound Prajnaparamita, the six paramitas are gathered, and, Subhuti, in this profound Prajnaparamita, inner emptiness is gathered, and the emptiness of the nature of non-things is gathered, and the four mindfulnesses, and the four right abandonments, and the four legs of magical power, and the five faculties, and the five powers, and the seven branches of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path are gathered, and, Subhuti, in this profound Prajnaparamita, the ten powers of the Tathagata are gathered, and the four fearlessnesses, and the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha are gathered, and, Subhuti, in this profound Prajnaparamita, the Buddha-ground is gathered, and even all-knowingness is gathered. Subhuti, for example, a king, a Kshatriya by caste, who has been consecrated from the crown of his head, the activities of a king who has great power and authority over the people of the country, and all the activities of the people of the country, if he allows the ministers to do them, then the activities of the king or the activities of the people of the country

Just as a king is smaller than the heart and is abandoned. Subhuti, similarly, all those dharmas of the Hearers, or the dharmas of the Solitary Buddhas, or the dharmas of the Bodhisattvas, or any of the Buddhas' dharmas, are all contained within the Perfection of Wisdom, and this Perfection of Wisdom is the activity of them. Subhuti, therefore, this Perfection of Wisdom abides closely with the great activity of the Bodhisattvas. Subhuti, this Perfection of Wisdom abides closely with unequaled activity, with immeasurable activity, with countless activity, and with unequal and equal activity. What is the reason for this? Subhuti, for example, this profound Perfection of Wisdom abides without grasping at form and without manifest attachment, and it abides without grasping at feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness and without manifest attachment, and it abides without grasping at all the way up to all-knowingness and without manifest attachment, and it abides without grasping at the fruit of stream-entry and without manifest attachment, and similarly, it abides without grasping at the fruit of once-returning, the fruit of non-returning, Arhatship, Solitary Enlightenment, and Unsurpassed Perfect and Complete Enlightenment and without manifest attachment. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, how does this Perfection of Wisdom abide without grasping at form and without manifest attachment? Blessed One, how does it abide without grasping at feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness and without manifest attachment? How does it abide without grasping at all the way up to Unsurpassed Perfect and Complete Enlightenment and without manifest attachment? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you grasp at, and what do you manifestly attach to?
