The Tathagata is not to be regarded as a sign, and neither are the roots of virtue of others apart from those to be regarded as signs. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is profound. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, because all dharmas are empty of their own nature. Subhuti said: Blessed One, I pay homage to the Perfection of Wisdom. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, thus, the Perfection of Wisdom is unconditioned and uncompounded, and no one can fully realize it. Subhuti said: Blessed One, all dharmas are difficult to fully realize. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, thus, the nature of dharmas is not two, but one. Subhuti, whatever is the one nature of dharmas is not nature. Whatever is not nature is unconditioned. Whatever is unconditioned is uncompounded. Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva knows that self-view is of one nature, non-nature, unconditioned, and uncompounded, then he has completely abandoned all extremes of attachment. Subhuti said: Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is difficult to realize. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, thus, the Perfection of Wisdom is not seen, not heard, not distinguished, not known, and not fully understood by anyone. Subhuti said: Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is inconceivable. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, thus, the Perfection of Wisdom is not known by anyone; it is not known by form, nor by feeling, perception, formations, or consciousness. It is not known by the elements, sources, or dependent origination. It is not known by the perfections, all emptiness, and the
