The Blessed One said: "Shariputra, form is profound because it is extremely pure. Feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are profound because they are extremely pure. The earth element, the water element, the fire element, the wind element, the space element, and the consciousness element are profound because they are extremely pure. The eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind are profound because they are extremely pure. Form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharmas are profound because they are extremely pure. The perfection of generosity is profound because it is extremely pure. The perfections of morality, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom are profound because they are extremely pure. Inner emptiness is profound because it is extremely pure. The emptiness of the nature of non-things is profound because it is extremely pure. The eye, being purified for the sake of being utterly purified, is appearance. The ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, being purified for the sake of being utterly purified, are appearance. Form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharmas, being purified for the sake of being utterly purified, are appearance. The earth element, water element, fire element, wind element, space element, and consciousness element, being purified for the sake of being utterly purified, are appearance. said: It is pure. The Blessed One said: Shariputra, form does not transmigrate, and the absence of continuity is purity. Up to the state of omniscience, the absence of transmigration and the absence of continuity is purity. Shariputra said: Blessed One, purity is the absence of all afflictions. The Blessed One said: Shariputra, it is because of extreme purity. Shariputra said: Blessed One, because of what is the absence of all afflictions, and therefore it is purity? The Blessed One said: Shariputra, form, by its nature, is without all afflictions, therefore it is pure.
