Chapter Thirty-Four: The Chapter on Praising the Qualities of Perfect Accomplishment Chapter Thirty-Four: The Chapter on Praising the Qualities of Perfect Accomplishment The Holy Perfection of Wisdom in Eight Thousand Lines, Volume Twenty-Seven. Then, the venerable Shariputra said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom appears for the sake of being extremely pure. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is worthy of being revered. Blessed One, I prostrate to the Perfection of Wisdom. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is unstained by all three realms. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom, in order to dispel all afflictions and the darkness of views, makes it without dimness. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom is the supreme of all the dharmas of the path to enlightenment. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom, in order to abandon all fears, hatred, and harms, makes it peaceful. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom, in order to fully hold the five eyes of beings, makes it clear. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom, in order to completely abandon the extremes of beings who have entered evil paths, shows the path. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom, in order to abandon all imprints, connections, and afflictions, makes it omniscient. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom, in order to generate all the Buddha's dharmas, is the mother of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom, for the sake of its own nature of emptiness, is unborn and unceasing. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom, in order to be without permanence and destruction, is the antidote to samsara. Blessed One, the Perfection of Wisdom, in order to bestow all precious dharmas, is the protector of beings without protectors.

Is my protector. Bhagavan! The Perfection of Wisdom is to make the ten powers for the sake of being invincible. Bhagavan! The Perfection of Wisdom is for the sake of no turning and no returning, reciting three times and turning the twelve aspects of the Wheel of Dharma. Bhagavan! The Perfection of Wisdom is to show the self-nature of all dharmas for the sake of the emptiness of the self-nature of non-things. Bhagavan! How should I abide in the Perfection of Wisdom? The Bhagavan said: Shariputra! Just as one should abide in the teacher, so should one abide in the Perfection of Wisdom. Just as one should pay homage to the teacher, so should one pay homage to the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? The Perfection of Wisdom itself is not different from the teacher, and the teacher is not different from the Perfection of Wisdom. The Perfection of Wisdom itself is also the teacher, The teacher himself is also the Perfection of Wisdom. The Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly complete Buddhas are also the distinctions made by the Perfection of Wisdom. The Bodhisattvas, the Pratyekabuddhas, the Arhats, the Non-returners, the Once-returners, and the Stream-enterers are also the distinctions made by this. The ten paths of virtuous actions are also the distinctions made by this. The four dhyanas, the four immeasurables, and the four formless absorptions are also the distinctions made by this. The five supernormal knowledges, the five perfections, and the emptiness of the interior, and the space between the emptiness of the self-nature of non-things, and the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, and the ten powers of the Tathagata, and the four fearlessnesses, and the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha are also the distinctions made by this. The image of the all-knowingness is also the distinction made by this. Then the Lord of the Gods, Indra, thought to himself: This question of the venerable Shariputra, from where did it arise?

The beginning is, what is it? Then, the venerable Shariputra, knowing with his mind all the thoughts of the mind of the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said this to the Lord of the Gods, Indra: Kausika! What do you think, this request of the venerable Shariputra, where did it come from? What is the beginning? To think about it separately is, Kausika! Bodhisattva-mahasattvas who are completely grasped by the Perfection of Wisdom, with skillful means, dedicate all the roots of virtue of the Buddhas, the Bhagavad-Tathagatas of the past, future, and present, from the first arising of their minds until the duration of the sacred Dharma, to omniscience. Thinking like this, my request arose. Kausika! This Perfection of Wisdom of the Bodhisattva-mahasattvas overcomes the Perfection of Generosity. Similarly, it also overcomes the Perfection of Morality, Patience, Diligence, and Meditation. Kausika! For example, blind people, whether hundreds, thousands, or millions, if they do not have a goal, they cannot even enter the road, let alone reach the city? Kausika! Similarly, these five perfections, like blind people, if they do not have the goal of the Perfection of Wisdom, they cannot even enter the path of Bodhi, let alone reach the great city of omniscience? Kausika! When these five perfections are also completely grasped by the Perfection of Wisdom, then, because they have eyes, they can obtain the name called Perfection. Indra said: Venerable Shariputra, you say that when these five perfections are also completely grasped by the Perfection of Wisdom, they can obtain the name of Perfection. So, Venerable Shariputra, then, when these five perfections are completely grasped by the Perfection of Generosity, will they not obtain the name of Perfection? Similarly, Morality, Patience, Diligence
