Kausika, furthermore, if one upholds, holds, recites, fully comprehends, and properly attends to this Prajñāpāramitā, what merits will those sons or daughters of good family obtain in this very life? Listen well and keep it in mind, and I will explain it to you. The Lord of the Gods, Indra, said: Blessed One, it is so. Having said this, the Blessed One indicated his willingness to listen, and the Blessed One spoke as follows: Kausika, whether it be other non-Buddhist wanderers, or Māras, or gods of the Māra class, or any individuals with excessive pride, if they wish to fight, argue, separate, or oppose Bodhisattvas Mahāsattvas, sons or daughters of good family, their desire to fight, argue, separate, or oppose will quickly disappear, and their intentions to fight, argue, separate, or oppose will not be fully realized. Why is that? Kausika, because Bodhisattvas Mahāsattvas have long practiced the perfection of generosity, the perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom, and for the sake of those beings who have long fought, argued, separated, and opposed, all those external and internal dharmas, Bodhisattvas Mahāsattvas always completely abandon them and place beings in the perfection of generosity; and for the sake of those beings who have long been immoral, all those external and internal dharmas, Bodhisattvas Mahāsattvas always completely abandon them and place beings in the perfection of ethics; and for the sake of those beings who have long quarreled, fought, and argued, all those external and internal dharmas, Bodhisattvas Mahāsattvas always completely abandon them.

Always completely abandoning, placing sentient beings in the perfection of patience, and for the sake of which sentient beings have become lazy for a long time, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva always completely abandons all those outer and inner dharmas, placing sentient beings in the perfection of diligence, and for the sake of which sentient beings have been constantly distracted for a long time, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva always completely abandons all those outer and inner dharmas, placing sentient beings in the perfection of meditation, and for the sake of which sentient beings have become those with perverse wisdom for a long time, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva always completely abandons all those outer and inner dharmas, placing sentient beings in the perfection of wisdom, and causing them to truly uphold it. Kausika. For the sake of which sentient beings, such as those who follow attachment, anger, and entanglement, and have been wandering in samsara for a long time, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, with skillful means, eliminates following attachment, anger, and entanglement, causing them to truly uphold the four dhyanas, the four immeasurables, and the four formless absorptions, causing them to truly uphold the four mindfulnesses, right abandonments, miraculous feet, faculties, powers, Bodhi limbs, and the eightfold noble path, placing and causing them to truly uphold the emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness liberation gates, samadhis, and dharani gates, placing and causing them to truly uphold the ten powers of the Tathagata, fearlessnesses, four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared Buddha dharmas, placing and causing them to truly uphold the stream-enterer fruit, once-returner fruit, non-returner fruit, Arhatship, and Pratyekabuddha enlightenment, Kausika.

O, when a Bodhisattva practices the conduct of a Bodhisattva, such qualities of this life will also arise, and in the next life, they will also manifest the unexcelled, perfectly complete enlightenment, turn the wheel of Dharma, establish sentient beings according to their aspirations, and completely pass into the realm of Nirvana without residue. Kausika! These are the qualities and benefits that will arise for a Bodhisattva Mahasattva in the next life. Kausika! Furthermore, in any place where sons or daughters of good family hold, recite, read, or fully comprehend this Prajnaparamita, or keep it well in mind, then neither demons, nor gods of the demonic hordes, nor other wandering non-Buddhists, nor those with excessive pride, will be able to disturb their minds in order to refute, argue, contradict, or destroy this Prajnaparamita. Moreover, such qualities and benefits will also arise for them: those who hear this Prajnaparamita will gradually attain liberation through these three vehicles and will also ultimately end suffering. Kausika! For example, there is a medicine called Rtsima-ghi-zhe which completely pacifies all poisons. There, a living creature, a hungry venomous snake, was searching for food, and it saw some creatures. Desiring to eat those creatures, it pursued them. Then, those creatures, fearing death,

Do you read? Do you fully understand? Do you properly apply your mind? Kauśika. Even if there arise fighting, arguing, and conflicting there, by the glory of the Perfection of Wisdom and by the power of the Perfection of Wisdom, those will quickly be pacified and disappear. From wherever they arise, in that very place they will disappear, and they will not increase. Why is that? Kauśika. Like this, the Perfection of Wisdom pacifies all sinful and unwholesome dharmas, and does not cause them to increase. Which sinful and unwholesome dharmas does it pacify, and not cause to increase? Like this: desire, hatred, delusion, ignorance, formations, consciousness, name and form, the six sense sources, contact, feeling, craving, grasping, existence, birth, old age and death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, distress, disturbance, and this great mass of suffering alone, it pacifies and does not cause to increase. Also obscurations, interruptions, attachments, latent tendencies, entanglements, the view of self, the view of sentient beings, the view of life, the view of person, the view between knower and seer, the view of permanence, the view of annihilation, the view of existence, the view of non-existence, and all the barriers of views, also miserliness, immoral discipline, harmful thoughts, laziness, distraction, immoral wisdom, the perception of permanence, the perception of pleasure, the perception of self, the perception of purity, and those who engage in craving, also grasping at form, feeling, perception, formations, and grasping at consciousness, also grasping at the Perfection of Generosity, the Perfection of Discipline, the Perfection of Patience, the Perfection of Diligence, the Perfection of Meditation, the Perfection of Wisdom, also grasping at inner emptiness, and up to the emptiness of the nature of non-things.
