The non-returner and, the Arhat himself and, the Arhat exists in the world. The self-enlightened and, the self-Buddha exists in the world. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva relies on making sentient beings fully mature exists in the world. The Buddha's pure land completely pure exists in the world. The Tathagata Arhat Samyaksaṃbuddha abides in the world. The turning of the wheel of Dharma exists in the world. The Buddha Jewel abides in the world. The Dharma Jewel exists in the world. It is so, relying on the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the hells of sentient beings and, the animal birthplace and, the world of Yama will be cut off. The Tiger said: Thus, for example, a sugarcane grove, or a reed grove, or a turmeric grove, or an arrow-shaft grove, or a rice field, or a sesame field, having become completely filled, if a son or daughter of good family were to attend to them with all necessities for as long as they live, respect them, never forget them, and make offerings, it would be better than if someone were to attend to, respect, never forget, and make offerings to a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who has generated the first thought of enlightenment and is inseparable from the six perfections. That person would generate much more merit than the former. Why is that? Kauśika, it is because the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, as well as the Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfectly awakened Buddhas, exist in the world because of the Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas, and not because of the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Rather, it is because of the Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas that the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, as well as the Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfectly awakened Buddhas, exist in the world. Kauśika, therefore, the world with its gods, humans, and asuras should constantly and without interruption attend to the Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas, respect them, never forget them, make offerings to them, and protect, rescue, and conceal them.
