Why is that? Because the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices this Kauśika Hundred Thousand Verses Prajñāpāramitā transcends the realms of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas and enters the flawless state of a Bodhisattva. Having entered the flawless state of a Bodhisattva, one will perfect all the Dharmas of the Buddha. Having perfected all the Dharmas of the Buddha, one will attain the wisdom of all-knowingness. Having attained the wisdom of all-knowingness, one will become the Tathāgata, Arhat, Samyaksaṃbuddha, having abandoned all afflictions that bind habitual tendencies. Then, from within that assembly, the gods of the Thirty-Three Realms, holding many Mandārava flowers, scattered them upon the Bhagavan. They scattered, exceedingly scattered, thoroughly scattered. About one hundred and sixty monks also arose from their seats, draped their robes over one shoulder, knelt on their right knees, and, in the direction where the Bhagavan was, folded their palms and bowed, gazing at the Bhagavan without blinking and paying homage. When these monks folded their palms and bowed, by the power of the Buddha, their palms were filled with Mandārava flowers, and they scattered these Mandārava flowers upon the Tathāgata, Arhat, Samyaksaṃbuddha, the Buddha. They scattered, exceedingly scattered, thoroughly scattered. As they scattered, exceedingly scattered, and thoroughly scattered in this way, they uttered these words: "Bhagavan, by this root of virtue, may we practice the supreme practice that does not belong to the realm of all Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas." Then, the Bhagavan, knowing the thoughts of these monks, smiled at that moment. Such is also the Dharma-nature of the Buddhas, the Bhagavats. When they smiled in this way, from the door of the Bhagavan's mouth, various rays of light appeared, such as blue, yellow, red, white, lapis lazuli, crystal, and silver. These rays of light filled the three-thousand great-thousand world system with illumination.

Then they gathered back and circumambulated the Blessed One three times in a clockwise direction, and disappeared into the crown of the Blessed One's head. Then, the Venerable Ananda rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and, with his palms joined together, bowed in the direction of the Blessed One, and said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones, do not smile without a cause or condition. What is the cause, what is the condition for your smile?" After he had spoken, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Ananda: "Ananda, these one hundred and sixty monks will, in as many eons as there are stars, fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, and will all appear in the world as Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones, named Flower Scattering. Ananda, the Sangha of monks of those Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones, named Flower Scattering, will be the same. The Buddha-field will be the same. The length of life will also be the same, namely, one thousand years. From wherever they appear, and having appeared, go forth, and having gone forth, fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, in those places a rain of flowers with five different colors will manifestly fall. Ananda, therefore, Bodhisattvas, great beings, who wish to practice the conduct of practice, should practice this Prajnaparamita. Bodhisattvas, great beings, who wish to practice the conduct of the Tathagatas, should practice the Prajnaparamita. Ananda, any son of good family or daughter of good family who practices this profound Prajnaparamita, that son of good family or daughter of good family will think thus: 'I died and transmigrated from among humans and was born here, or I died and transmigrated from the hosts of gods of Tushita and was born here, knowing among humans.'
