It should not be spoken in front of (these people). Why is that? Because even if there is just a little faith, or just a little joy, or just a little admiration, or just a little respect for these people, even that will disappear. It should be spoken and shown in front of the irreversible Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas. It should be spoken and shown in front of those who are completely taken care of by virtuous friends, those who have done deeds for the Buddhas of the past, those who have generated roots of virtue, and those who serve and honor many Buddhas, this Prajnaparamita that is shown in this way. It should be spoken, it should be shown. It should be spoken and shown the Paramita of Dhyana, the Paramita of Virya, the Paramita of Kshanti, the Paramita of Shila, and the Paramita of Dana that are shown in this way. It should be spoken, it should be shown. It should be spoken and shown the emptiness of inner emptiness, and the (emptiness) between the emptiness of the nature of non-things that are shown in this way. It should be spoken, it should be shown. It should be spoken and shown the four mindfulnesses, the four right abandonments, the four legs of miraculous power, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, the eightfold noble path, the four noble truths, the dhyanas, the immeasurables, the formless attainments, the eight liberations, the nine sequential abidings, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, the six superknowledges, the samadhis, the doors of dharani, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great compassion, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha that are shown in this way. It should be spoken, it should be shown. It should be spoken and shown the omniscience, the knowledge of the aspects of the path, and the knowledge of all aspects that are shown in this way. It should be spoken, it should be shown. In front of them, the dharmas that are empty of their own characteristics should be spoken. It should be spoken, it should be shown. If they hear these, they will not be afraid, they will not be frightened, they will not be terrified. Subhuti, the object of merit possessed by the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who rejoices will also lead to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment.

Should be dedicated in this way. Subhuti said: Maitreya, with what mind do you rejoice, and the mind with which those roots of virtue are dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment is exhausted, dissipated, and transformed. Those things, those objects, those roots of virtue are also exhausted, dissipated, and transformed. What is the mind that possesses rejoicing? What are those things? What are those objects? What are those roots of virtue? Dedicate them to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Is it the mind that dedicates with the mind? If the mind dedicates with the mind in this way, then there is no time for the two minds to meet, and the nature of the mind cannot be dedicated. If a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, then the Prajnaparamita is without substance. Dhyana Paramita, Virya Paramita, Kshanti Paramita, Shila Paramita, Dana Paramita are without substance. The inner emptiness and the emptiness of the nature of non-substantiality are without substance. The mindfulness, the right abandonment, the miraculous feet, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path are without substance. The noble truths, the dhyanas, the immeasurables, the formless samapattis, the liberations, the successive abiding samapattis, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, and the superknowledges are without substance. The samadhis, the doors of dharani, the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, great compassion, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha are without substance.

The unfailing fruit, the Arhat himself, the self-enlightenment, the all-knowingness, the knowledge of the aspects of the path, and the all-aspects-knowingness are known as non-existent things. Thus, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva should dedicate the object of merit, which is endowed with rejoicing, to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. If he dedicates it in this way, it will become a dedication to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the Venerable Subhuti: Venerable Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has newly entered the vehicle hears this teaching, will he not be frightened or terrified? Venerable Subhuti, how should a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has newly entered the vehicle dedicate those roots of virtue to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? How does he fully grasp the object of merit endowed with rejoicing and not dedicate it to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? Then, the venerable Subhuti, focusing on the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya, said this to the Lord of the Gods, Indra: Kauśika, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has newly entered the vehicle practices the Perfection of Wisdom, and also holds that Perfection of Wisdom in a way that is without focus and without characteristics. He practices the Perfection of Meditation and, the Perfection of Diligence and, the Perfection of Patience and, the Perfection of Morality and, the Perfection of Generosity, and also holds that Perfection of Generosity in a way that is without focus and without characteristics. He practices inner emptiness, and also holds that inner emptiness in a way that is without focus and without characteristics. He practices between the emptiness of the nature of non-things, and also holds that the emptiness of the nature of non-things in a way that is without focus and without characteristics. To
