A. Hearing this Perfection of Wisdom is thus meaningful. Whatever son or daughter of good family, all those who have heard this Perfection of Wisdom, all of them will, by that root of virtue, eventually fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Why is that? Kauśika, it is because all those Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfectly and completely awakened Buddhas, along with their assemblies of Śrāvakas, who appeared in the past, also, having trained in this Perfection of Wisdom, completely passed into Nirvāṇa in the realm of Nirvāṇa without remainder. All those Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfectly and completely awakened Buddhas, along with their assemblies of Śrāvakas, who will appear in the future, will also train in this very Perfection of Wisdom and fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Now, in the realms of the ten directions, all those Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfectly and completely awakened Buddhas, along with their assemblies of Śrāvakas, who abide and teach, also, having trained in this very Perfection of Wisdom, have fully awakened to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Why is that? Kauśika, it is because within this Perfection of Wisdom, whether it be the Dharma of Śrāvakas, the Dharma of Pratyekabuddhas, the Dharma of Bodhisattvas, or even the Dharma of Buddhas, all the Dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment are included. Indra requested: Blessed One, it is like this, this Perfection of Wisdom is the great mantra of knowledge. Blessed One, it is like this, this Perfection of Wisdom is the unsurpassed mantra of knowledge. Blessed One, it is like this, this Perfection of Wisdom is the mantra of knowledge that is unequal and equal. Why is that? Blessed One, it is because the Perfection of Wisdom abandons all non-virtuous Dharmas and accomplishes all virtuous Dharmas. The Blessed One spoke:

Tsalpa. Kauśika, it is so, it is so. Kauśika, thus, this Prajñāpāramitā is the great mantra. Kauśika, thus, this Prajñāpāramitā is the unsurpassed mantra. Kauśika, thus, this Prajñāpāramitā is the mantra that is unequal and equal. Why is that? Kauśika, it is because in the past, future, and present, in the ten directions of the world, as many Tathāgatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones as dwell and maintain, they also rely on this mantra and become manifestly perfectly awakened into unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. They become manifestly perfectly awakened. They will become manifestly perfectly enlightened. Why is that? Kauśika, it is because if this mantra exists, the ten paths of virtuous action exist in the world. The four dhyānas, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, and the five superknowledges exist in the world. All the perfections, all the emptinesses, the mindfulnesses, the right abandonments, the miraculous feet, the faculties, the powers, the branches of enlightenment, the eightfold noble path, the noble truths, the liberations, the gradual abidings in absorption, the doors of liberation—emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness—the superknowledges, the samādhis, the dhāraṇī doors, the powers of the Tathāgata, the fearlessnesses, the separate correct knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the unmixed qualities of the Buddhas exist in the world. The realm of dharma exists in the world. The limit of reality, thusness, non-erroneous thusness, non-other thusness, dharma-nature, the abiding nature of dharma, the faultless nature of dharma exist in the world. The five eyes exist in the world. The fruit of stream-entry exists in the world.

exists. The fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, the Arhat himself, and the solitary enlightened one exist in the world. Omniscience exists in the world. Knowledge of the aspects of the path and knowledge of all aspects exist in the world. Kauśika, if a Bodhisattva exists, then the paths of the ten virtuous actions can be established in the world. Up to omniscience, it can be established in the world. The stream-enterer can be established in the world. The once-returner, the non-returner, the Arhat, and the solitary Buddha can be established in the world. The Tathāgata, the Arhat, the perfectly complete Buddha, can be established in the world. Kauśika, just as, for example, if there is a moon disc, then all grasses, constellations, and stars can be established. Kauśika, similarly, if there is a moon disc of a Bodhisattva, then virtuous conduct, correct conduct, the ten paths of virtuous actions, all perfections, all emptinesses, mindfulness, correct abandonments, miraculous feet, faculties, powers, branches of enlightenment, paths, noble truths, meditations, immeasurables, formless absorptions, eight liberations, nine successive abiding absorptions, and the doors of liberation, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, clairvoyance, samādhi, dhāraṇī doors, the ten powers of the Tathāgata, the four fearlessnesses, individual perfect knowledge, and all the unmixed qualities of the Buddha can be established. The learners, the non-learners, the constellations of the Śrāvakas and solitary Buddhas, and all the stars can also be established. The Tathāgata, the Arhat, the perfectly complete Buddha, will also exist in the world.
