One cannot truly perceive the realm of phenomena. The realm of phenomena cannot truly perceive the realm of form. The realm of feeling cannot truly perceive the realm of phenomena. The realm of phenomena cannot truly perceive the realm of feeling. The realm of perception cannot truly perceive the realm of phenomena. The realm of phenomena cannot truly perceive the realm of perception. The realm of formation cannot truly perceive the realm of phenomena. The realm of phenomena cannot truly perceive the realm of formation. The realm of consciousness cannot truly perceive the realm of phenomena. The realm of phenomena cannot truly perceive the realm of consciousness. The realm of the eye cannot truly perceive the realm of phenomena. The realm of phenomena cannot truly perceive the realm of the eye. The realm of the ear, the realm of the nose, the realm of the tongue, the realm of the body, and the realm of the mind cannot truly perceive the realm of phenomena. The realm of phenomena cannot truly perceive the realm of the mind. Subhuti, because of the realm of the conditioned, one cannot truly perceive the realm of the unconditioned. Because of the realm of the unconditioned, one cannot truly perceive the realm of the conditioned. Why is that? Because if there is no realm of the conditioned, one cannot posit the realm of the unconditioned. If there is no realm of the unconditioned, one cannot posit the realm of the conditioned. Subhuti, in that way, when a Bodhisattva, A great Bodhisattva, practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he does not truly perceive any phenomenon. Because he does not truly perceive, he does not become unafraid, fearless, or terrified. His mind does not become discouraged by any phenomenon, does not become completely discouraged, and does not become regretful. Subhuti, why is that? It is like this: when a Bodhisattva, a great Bodhisattva, practices the Perfection of Wisdom, he does not truly perceive form. Feeling

Where is it not seen accordingly? Because all dharmas have not been truly seen accordingly, there will be no fear, no dread, no terror. The questioner: World Honored One, for what reason does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, when practicing in the Perfection of Wisdom, not become timid towards all dharmas, and not become completely timid? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, it is like this: a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not truly see accordingly the mind and the dharmas arising from the mind. Subhuti, therefore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices in the Perfection of Wisdom, there is no timidity towards all dharmas, and there is no complete timidity. The questioner: World Honored One, how does a Bodhisattva- Mahasattva's mind not become completely terrified? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, it is like this: a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not truly see accordingly the mind and the realm of the mind. Subhuti, in this way, the mind of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not become completely terrified. Subhuti, because a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not see all dharmas in this way, one should train in the Perfection of Wisdom. Subhuti, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices in the Perfection of Wisdom, then the Perfection of Wisdom is also not seen, the Bodhisattva is also not seen, the name of the Bodhisattva is also not seen, and the mind of Bodhi is also not seen. This is the instruction of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, this is the subsequent teaching. The End of the Third Chapter of the Twenty-Five Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom. Chapter Three.
