May it increase! May the Buddha Jewel appear! May the Dharma Jewel appear! May the Sangha Jewel appear! Therefore, the world with gods, humans, and asuras, should make offerings to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, show respect, venerate, and worship. They should constantly and continuously protect, assist, and safeguard them. Kauśika, whoever thinks of making offerings, showing respect, venerating, and worshipping the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, is thinking of making offerings, showing respect, venerating, and worshipping me. Therefore, the world with gods, humans, and asuras, should make offerings to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, show respect, venerate, and worship. They should constantly and continuously protect, assist, and safeguard them. Kauśika, this three-thousand great thousand world realm, is like a reed forest, or a bamboo forest, or a sugarcane forest, or a rush forest, or a mustard field, or a rice field, or a sesame field, filled with Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. If a son or daughter of good family were to make offerings, show respect, venerate, and worship them with all necessities for as long as they live, it would be better to make offerings, show respect, venerate, and worship a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has generated the first thought of enlightenment and is inseparable from the six perfections. The merit would increase even more. Why is that? Kauśika, because there are Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva will not appear in the world, and the Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha will not appear in the world. Kauśika, if there is a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, then all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas will exist in the world, and the Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha
