Then, the son of Maitreya said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, this venerable Subhuti, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, has been appointed for the sake of the Perfection of Wisdom, so I think this is merely teaching the Great Vehicle. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, do I or someone else teach the Great Vehicle in contradiction to the Perfection of Wisdom? The Blessed One said: Subhuti, it is not so. Subhuti, you teach the Great Vehicle in accordance with the Perfection of Wisdom. Why is that? Subhuti, because whatever virtuous Dharma there is, whether it is the Dharma of the Hearers, or the Dharma of the Solitary Buddhas, or the Dharma of the Bodhisattvas, or the Dharma of the Buddhas, all of these are included and contained within the Perfection of Wisdom. Subhuti asked: Blessed One, which virtuous Dharma Bodhipaksa is included and contained within the Perfection of Wisdom? The Blessed One said: For example, the four mindfulnesses, the four right abandonments, the four miraculous feet, the five faculties, the five powers, the seven branches of enlightenment, the eightfold noble path, the four noble truths, and the doors of liberation of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, the four dhyanas, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, the six superknowledges, the perfection of generosity, the perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom.
