Because suffering is not observed, it is the door of all dharmas. Ḍha is named as not observing servants, abiding to the ultimate end, without death and transference, without birth, therefore it is the door of all dharmas. Beyond this, there is no verbal expression of letters. Why is that? It is like this: for anything, what is used as a term, what is used to speak, what is used to indicate, what is used to write, what is used to appear, what is used to read. Where to do, there is no such name. Subhuti, it is like this, for example, like the sky, all dharmas should be contained within it. Subhuti, this is entering the door of dharani, it is entering the teaching of letters beginning with A. Subhuti, Bodhisattva Mahasattva, whoever is skilled in the letters beginning with A, and fully understands this, then he will not be attached to any sound, everything will be truly accomplished by the nature of dharma, and he will gain the wisdom to understand sound. Subhuti, Bodhisattva, whoever hears this mudra of entering the letters beginning with A, and these words of the mudra of entering the letters beginning with A, and after hearing, can also remember, uphold, recite, fully understand, and also explain to others with appropriate wisdom, know that he has twenty qualities. What are the twenty? It is like this: having mindfulness, having wisdom, having understanding, having intelligence, having joy, having shame, will become brave, and this dharani door will also be obtained without affliction, and will become without doubt. Even if hearing pleasant words from others, one will not be attached, even if hearing harsh words, one will not be angry. There is no high, and no low, one will abide in accordance with the Dharma. And one will be skilled in sound, and one will be skilled in aggregates, and one will be skilled in realms, and one will be skilled in sources, and one will be skilled in truths, and one will be skilled in dependent origination, that is, skilled in cause, and skilled in condition, and one will be skilled in the nature of dharma, and one will be skilled in knowing superior and inferior faculties, and one will be skilled in knowing death and birth.
