Great being, how does one practice the perfection of diligence? Not with the mind associated with hearers and solitary buddhas, but with the mind associated with all-knowingness. Completely guarding morality, and also making that root of virtue common to all sentient beings, and completely dedicating it to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, this is the perfection of morality practiced by a bodhisattva mahasattva in the perfection of diligence. Furthermore, Sharadvatiputra, a bodhisattva mahasattva, not with the mind associated with hearers and solitary buddhas, but with the mind associated with all-knowingness, how does one practice the perfection of diligence? To endure, delight in, and rely on those dharmas in that way, this is the perfection of patience practiced by a bodhisattva mahasattva in the perfection of diligence. Furthermore, Sharadvatiputra, a bodhisattva mahasattva, not with the mind associated with hearers and solitary buddhas, but with the mind associated with all-knowingness, practicing the perfection of diligence, and not diminishing diligence for the sake of all sentient beings, and not being lazy, this is the perfection of diligence practiced by a bodhisattva mahasattva in the perfection of diligence.
