The Blessed One said, 'If there is a reason, give it.' Spread all the reasons widely so that others hear and steal them. The Blessed One said, 'Speak the reason secretly. If someone knows such a reason, instruct them to give it.' Some monks were walking on the road, arrived at the riverbank, and then entered a boat. There was another monk there, and upon entering the boat, he said, 'Give me my bathing powder.' He gave the bathing powder, but it fell from his hand and was carried away by the water. He said, 'You lost my bathing powder, you must compensate me.' The two of them quarreled. The monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said, 'Ask him if it came into your hand, and if he says it did, give it first. Otherwise, decide and compensate according to the value. Other utensils should also be treated in the same way. Just as in the river, treat climbing mountains and abysses in the same way. If you say, "Let go when it comes into your hand," and it is lost after letting go, then it is lost.' The story takes place in Shravasti. In a monastery, the monastery manager did not close the door properly and did not check properly, so thieves found an opportunity to steal things. The monks mocked, 'The monastery manager should bear this debt.' When this happened, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said, 'Monks, there are five ways to close a door. What are the five? A bar, a bolt, a wheel, a door ring, and a crooked key. If all of these are in the monastery and the monastery manager puts in four but not one, then compensate one part. If he puts in three but not two, then compensate three parts. If he puts in two but not three, then compensate one-third. If he does not put in one but puts in four, then compensate one-fourth. If he does not put in any of them, then compensate for all that is lost. If the door is closed in five ways, then if something is lost, it is simply lost. In the monastery, the monastery manager has...'

Do not do that. The story takes place in Shravasti. The Venerable Upali asked the Blessed One Buddha: "Venerable One, the Blessed One has instructed that the robes of the monks should be made according to the prescribed size. Venerable One, if the cloth is short and the body is long, is that also the size of the robe?" Upali, then make it according to the size of the body. If the body is short and the cloth is long, is that also made according to the size of the body? The Blessed One said: Upali, if the body is short and the cloth is long, then make it according to the size of the body. If the body is large and the cloth is long, then make it according to the size of the cloth. Otherwise, it is a violation of the established rules. If you find a cloth that exceeds the established size, although it can be used without blessing, if it is blessed and allowed to be used, then offer it to the teacher, abbot, or friend before using it. The ninth verse of the Sutra of the Four Doors Single Robe. In short, the permission of the lower garment, and the lining of the lower garment are also the same. The offering of the upper garment, and the acceptance without giving are also the same. The teachings of sweat and single robe are spoken. The Blessed One Buddha was staying in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Anathapindika's Garden. Monks, because spring has arrived, the lower garments have an unpleasant smell due to sweat. The Blessed One said: Sew the lining of the lower garment. The sewn clothes also have an unpleasant smell due to sweat. The Blessed One said: Sew the lining of the upper garment. Similarly, because of the unpleasant smell, the Blessed One said: The lining of the upper garment should be carried, and it should be washed frequently. The story takes place in Shravasti. When the monks wear robes to make offerings, the clothes are soiled by dirt, flour, and oil. The Blessed One said: Clothes that are soiled by dirt should be washed before wearing. Clothes that are soiled by flour should be dusted off before wearing. Clothes that are soiled by oil should be washed with oil clay before wearing. The story takes place in Shravasti. When the monks were eating food, food that had not been given fell into the bowl, and they were doubtful and did not eat it. The Blessed One

At that time, the Blessed One taught: "Take and eat!" If there is no taking, the Blessed One taught: "Scoop it up greatly and eat without hesitation!" After falling into the broth, the Blessed One taught: "Scoop it up greatly and eat it too!" Whatever I have allowed when the monks are poor, do not use it that way when you are not poor! If you use it, it will become a cause of downfall. When the monks go begging for alms, and the wind and rain fall, dust enters the bowl, causing doubt and not eating, and when eating in the queue, it becomes like that. The Blessed One taught: "Monks, there are these five kinds of dust: lawful dust, unlawful dust, placed dust, unplaced dust, and dust of dust, these five. Furthermore, there are five kinds of dust: dust of food, dust of drink, dust of clothes, dust of flowers, and dust of fruit. If it is not clearly visible, then all of those are permissible, so do not hesitate, eat!" The tenth verse of the Sutra of the Four Doors of the Single Mouth. The doors of the Single Mouth are completed. Explanation of the Four Doors of the Single Mouth.
