Then, as soon as King Ajatashatru of Rajagriha had left Rajagriha, he thought: "Does this Jivaka want to kill me, or does he want to deceive me, or does he want to make me submit, or does he want to hand me over to executioners, rebels, or enemies?" Thinking this, he became frightened, uneasy, and confused, and said to Jivaka: "Jivaka, do you want to kill me, or do you want to deceive me, or do you want to make me submit, or do you want to hand me over to executioners, rebels, or enemies?" He replied: "O deity, I do not intend to kill you, nor to deceive you, nor to make you submit, nor to hand you over to executioners, rebels, or enemies."
