Therefore, by the deed of offering warm porridge without salt to a Pratyekabuddha, he possessed the power of kingship over the gods of the Thirty-Three six times. Here in Shravasti, he was also crowned six times as king from the head of the royal lineage. Due to the remaining force of karma, he is now also a king, crowned from the head of the royal lineage. Considering the complete ripening of this warm porridge, riding elephants, horses, and small chariot squadrons, subduing cities and villages, behold, this is the power of warm porridge without salt or oil. Thus he spoke. The Blessed One explained the cause and effect of karma, starting from the warm porridge without salt offered by King Prasenajit of Kosala. When King Prasenajit of Kosala heard this widespread rumor, he went to where the Blessed One was. Upon arriving, he bowed his head to the Blessed One's feet and sat to one side. After sitting to one side, the Blessed One delighted King Prasenajit with Dharma-related talks, making him very happy, until the Blessed One said nothing more, just as before. Then, King Prasenajit of Kosala rose from his seat, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and with his palms joined together towards the Blessed One, he said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, if it pleases you, I would like to offer robes, alms, and medicine, as well as the necessities for the treatment of illness, to the Sangha of monks for three months." The Blessed One said nothing to King Prasenajit of Kosala, indicating his permission. After that, King Prasenajit of Kosala provided the Sangha of monks, with the Buddha at its head, with food of a hundred flavors for three months, and he also clothed each monk with a robe worth a hundred thousand. He also collected millions of jars of ghee and began to light rows of ghee lamps. At that time, the edges of the parasols and the offerings made a great clamorous sound, and at the same time, a very miserable pauper, holding a piece of broken pottery,

The person who entered the village heard a great sound and a loud sound. Having heard it, he asked: 'Wise ones, what is this loud sound and great sound?' Others said: 'King Prasenajit of Kosala is offering umbrellas to the Sangha of monks, including the Buddha, for three months, and is also dressing each monk in clothes worth a hundred thousand, and is accumulating hundreds of millions of oil jars, and is preparing to light a garland of lamps.' Then that village girl thought to herself: 'King Prasenajit of Kosala does not know the limits of merit, and is still giving alms, still doing good deeds, then I too should beg for some and light an oil lamp for the Blessed One.' Thinking this, she poured the small amount of oil she had begged into a clay pot, and lit an oil lamp for the place where the Blessed One would walk, and knelt down on both knees and made a prayer: 'By this root of virtue, just as the teacher, the Blessed One Shakyamuni, appeared in the world when beings' life span was a hundred years, so too may I, when beings' life span is a hundred years, become the teacher Shakyamuni.' And just as his two supreme and two excellent ones, Shariputra and Maudgalyayana, and the attendant monk Ananda, father Shuddhodana, mother the goddess Maya, son the youth Rahula, and the city of Kapilavastu, so too may my two supreme and two excellent ones, Shariputra and Maudgalyayana, and the attendant monk Ananda, father Shuddhodana, mother the goddess Maya, son the youth Rahula, and the city of Kapilavastu appear, and just as the Blessed One was cremated and passed into nirvana, so too may I be cremated and pass into nirvana.' Thus she prayed. Before long, all those lamps went out, but the lamp she had lit was still burning. According to the Dharma, the Blessed Buddhas are not placed inside (the coffin) until the attendants of the Blessed Buddhas are placed inside, so the venerable Ananda thought, the Buddha Blessed One
