Having abandoned fear and being free from the accusations of others, let us again make distinctions. Thus, again in this fifteenth distinction, if a distinction of non-sick is applied to a sick person, then one should say to the sick person: "Venerable one, you are sick, stay here with unbearable actions." Thus, again in this fifteenth distinction, if a distinction of sick is applied to a non-sick person, then one should say to the non-sick person: "Venerable one, that one is sick, come here with unbearable actions." Thus, again in this fifteenth distinction, if a distinction of non-sick is applied to a sick person by sending a messenger, then one should say to the messenger: "Venerable one, that one is sick, stay there with unbearable actions." Thus, again in this fifteenth distinction, if a distinction of sick is applied to a non-sick person by sending a messenger, then one should say to the messenger: "Venerable one, that one is sick, come here with unbearable actions." Thus, again in this fifteenth distinction, knowing the object but not the person, knowing the person but not the object, knowing both the person and the object, and not knowing either the person or the object. What is it to know the object but not the person? Thus, again in this fifteenth distinction, another who does not recognize old age, is ignorant, unclear, or unskilled, in the realm of practice or on the path of practice, is angry with a woman of good family or a young woman of good family, speaks harsh words, or touches them, and the people are angry and come to the gate of the monastery, saying: "These noble ones are unseemly and imprudent, the noble ones have committed these faults," but they do not say that so-and-so has done it, that is called knowing the object but not the person. What is it to know the person but not the object? Thus, again in this fifteenth distinction, from "..." to "...come to the gate of the monastery, saying: 'These noble ones are unseemly and imprudent,'" as before. Thus, the noble so-and-so has committed a fault, they say, but they do not say that they have done these things, that is called knowing the person but not the object. What is it to know both the person and the object?

For example, what is it like? It's like this, from the fifteenth refutation itself, from the phrase "having come to the gate of the Joyful Garden, saying this, the noble one," it is the same as before. A certain noble one has committed this and that offense, so it is said. Like this is knowing persons and things. What is it like not knowing persons and things? It is other than these situations. The basis of refutation is complete. Explaining the basis of refutation.
