向胜王顶礼！向佛陀，明智者，具足行者顶礼！向涅槃者顶礼！如此北方之方向，众人皆云：善哉！此方向由威名远扬之大王守护。东方有持国天王，南方有增长天王，西方有广目天王，北方有多闻天王。此四大天王，守护世界，威名远扬，具大神力，守护四方。诸天王之使者，夜叉随心所欲，彼等寻觅象，于各方游行。彼等寻觅乘马、牝骡、牛王、水牛、山羊、绵羊、蛇、鸟、男子、女子、青年、少女，亦于各方游行。一象驾车，亦于各方游行。乘马、牝骡、牛王、水牛、山羊、绵羊、蛇、鸟、男子、女子、青年、少女驾一车，亦于各方游行。具大神力，夜叉随心所欲，寻觅彼等坐骑，守护四方。诸国王之城市，种种于虚空游行。如是，有周遍游行者与非周遍游行者，有于地上非周遍游行者，有具足舞姿于地上周遍游行者，有具空隙者，有称作具空隙之城市者。北方亦有称作迦毗楞迦之海。西方有城市萨婆，具黄金，具衣，具妙衣，具莲花，具妙莲花，具地基。有称作执持之海，乃众多水流之所，种种水流由此而出，由此降下天雨。尊者，于邬尸罗城之空隙彼岸，有身处与广处，较彼更广处乃恒常，恒常众多且较彼更多。

I prostrate to the Victor! I prostrate to the Buddha, the wise one, the one with perfect conduct! I prostrate to the one who has attained Nirvana! Thus, this northern direction, people all say: Good! This direction is guarded by the great king with far-reaching fame. In the east is Dhritarashtra, in the south is Virudhaka, in the west is Virupaksha, in the north is Vaishravana. These four great kings, guarding the world, are famous, possess great divine power, and guard the four directions. The messengers of the kings, the Yakshas, go as they please, they seek elephants and travel in all directions. They seek riding horses, mules, bulls, buffaloes, goats, sheep, snakes, birds, men, women, youths, maidens, and also travel in all directions. One elephant drives a chariot, also travels in all directions. Riding horses, mules, bulls, buffaloes, goats, sheep, snakes, birds, men, women, youths, maidens drive a chariot, also travel in all directions. Possessing great divine power, the Yakshas go as they please, seeking those mounts, guarding the four directions. The cities of the kings, various ones travel in the sky.
