Is it okay not to fall in love at first sight? My heart is already lost, adding to the sorrow. Is it okay not to confide in each other upon meeting again? Holding a hidden pain in my heart is of no use. (The above content is from [The Love Songs and Secret Biography of the Sixth Dalai Lama Tsangyang Gyatso], [Golden Book of Writings by Successive Tibetan Scholars], [Tsangyang Gyatso's Love Songs], [Selected Outstanding Modern Tibetan Works]. The content of the four books is consistent.) The following eight poems are quoted from the "Tibetan Songs" section of [Tsangyang Gyatso's Love Songs] published by Qinghai People's Publishing House, as a supplement. Don't say you're looking for a sweetheart; what you need, others need too. On the top of the divine juniper tree, a young cuckoo rests. No need for many words, please say one sweet word. White male bird of Samye Monastery, please don't crow too early. My childhood sweetheart and I still have unfinished whispers. I wasn't drunk the first time I drank this wine, nor was I drunk the second time. My childhood sweetheart persuaded me to drink, and unknowingly, my cheeks turned red. Among the crowd, please don't act like we are a couple. If you have me in your heart, please signal with your eyes. You are a golden bronze statue, I am a clay deity. In the same temple, we cannot meet. Look at this body tormented by love. Skinny and dry, even a hundred famous doctors cannot help. When affection is strong, don't pour out all your heart. When extremely thirsty, don't drink all the water in the pond. When fate changes, it is too late to regret. (Note: The following poem is from the 47th poem in [Tsangyang Gyatso's Love Songs] published by Qinghai People's Publishing House, but the content differs, so it is listed separately.) If you don't remember impermanence and death from the bottom of your heart, even if you are clever, you are actually like a fool. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

66 In the depths of the willow grove, to pour out one's heart, known to none but the little bird. 67 Flowers bloom and fade, lovers grow old together, I and the little bee, have long made up our minds. 68 Petals wither, the lover's youth fades, even with a bright white smile, there is no joy in the heart. 69 When love is at its peak, affection is deep, now having to go to the mountains to practice, one must ask for leave. 70 The swift horse ran too early, the reins pulled too late, the ill-fated lover, spoke their heart too soon. 71 Climbing over mountain after mountain, at the source of the melting snow, where the ridges meet. 72 Among a hundred trees, choosing a pillar, but not knowing the pillar is already hollow and rotten. 73 Slowly, slowly, drawing out the fish's thoughts, when the fish's thoughts are drawn out, body and mind are at ease. 74 In the square willow grove, the wagtail happily brings its children, being too attached, the joy also dissipates. 75 The color of the mountain top has changed, the leaves at the foot of the mountain have turned yellow, how wonderful it would be if the cuckoo could fly to Mon. 76 The cuckoo flies from Mon, thinking it is a lucky tree, the lucky tree shows signs of decay, the cuckoo must fly back to Mon. 77 The talking parrot flying from Kongpo, my childhood sweetheart, is she well? 78 Under clear eyes, fine rain falls, please look at my long-lasting love and shyness for you. 79 At the time of parting, seeing off with clear eyes, day and night, smiles accompany, telling of a pure heart. 80 Bird, how long will it take for you, the blue cuckoo, to reach Mon? Please be sure to bring three greetings to my lover. 81 In the square willow grove, the wagtail happily brings its children, parrot, can you and I fly to eastern Kongpo together? 82 The road to eastern Kongpo, sometimes high, sometimes low, thinking of the lover in my heart, letting the swift horse gallop. 83 Chonggye's square willow grove, the wagtail's merit is complete, do not go far away, we will eventually meet by fate. 84 The seeds sown this year may not ripen next year. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
