Pages 465 to 500. Pages 465 to 500. From the profound oral transmission section of the Sky Dharma Mind Treasure, the Tummo instruction, "Bliss-Warmth Self-Igniting," is presented. Namo Lokeshvara Sarva Siddhi Hum! (Tibetan: ན་མོ་ལོ་ཀེ་ཤྭ་ར་སརྦ་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमो लोकेश्वराय सर्व सिद्धि हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: namo lokeśvarāya sarva siddhi huṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to the Lord of the World, All Accomplishments, Hum!) I prostrate and take refuge in the noble Avalokiteśvara, together with the assembly of Vidyadhara Siddhas! Here, as urged by the words of the great Vidyadhara himself, I shall write a brief commentary on the instructions: MAMAJÑA! (Tibetan: མམཤམཛྙ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization:, Literal Chinese meaning:). The appearance of these five letters is a script of Dakini's command seal. It is shown that the script and language of the Ugyen Dakinis are like this, thus establishing the reliability of the source. However, it was not translated by a translator. When the incarnate Migyur Dorje was twelve years old, on the evening of the twentieth day of the Min Drug month in the Fire Monkey year (uncertain), the Wrathful One himself appeared and spoke directly. Therefore, there is no adulteration of the translator's words, and he spoke in Tibetan itself. Homage to the Wrathful Rakshasa! This is to understand the meaning based on the name. This deity is the great compassionate tamer of beings. The meaning of calling him Rakshasa has outer, inner, and secret aspects. In the past, when subduing a very unruly demon king named Gurna Pa, the great compassionate noble Avalokiteśvara transformed into a wrathful form, killed that demon, and devoured the demon's corpse, hence he is known as the Wrathful Rakshasa. Likewise, this wrathful one devours all demons and heretics as a tiger or lion devours a human corpse, hence he is called Rakshasa. In terms of the inner aspect, in the aspect of appearance as skillful means, meditate on your own body as the form of the wrathful one, like a clear and empty rainbow. In the aspect of wisdom as emptiness, meditate on the fire of Tummo at the navel. By burning or devouring the obscurations of karma and afflictions, as well as all impure aggregates, elements, and sources, transform them into a pure body of wisdom. Therefore, he is called the Vajra Dakini Who Eats, or the Wrathful Rakshasa. In terms of the secret aspect, it is called the supreme central channel, or when the wind-mind enters or merges into the Avadhuti, it is devoured by the central channel. Therefore, the supreme, unchanging, and unmoving great bliss is accomplished, hence he is called Rakshasa. To teach such instructions, it is crucial to have a qualified lama in the beginning, as it is said in the Sutra of the Immaculate King:

The supreme lama who cuts off all additions and subtractions, the supreme lama who reveals the inner self-arisen wisdom, the supreme lama who reveals the secret co-emergent wisdom, and the supreme lama who reveals the ultimate truth of all dharmas as utterly pure. Among these, the relevant one here is the inner and secret lama. What are the characteristics of such a lama? The tantra itself says: "The water of empowerment has not dried up, the lineage of blessing has not deteriorated, the essence of the instructions has not deviated, and one is able to satisfy the mind with devotion." All the meanings of these words are complete in this. Because the deity of the yidam has directly bestowed empowerment, it is like the source of the water of empowerment. Because the lineage is close, the lineage of blessing has not deteriorated. Because the ripening empowerment and the path of liberation, the generation and completion stages, are complete, the essence of the instructions has not deviated. Because the incarnate one himself is clearly prophesied in many ancient treasures such as the Five Sections of the Padma Kathang, one is able to satisfy the mind with devotion. To receive these instructions from such a true lama or a qualified lineage, one must also receive empowerment. For those who are familiar with practices such as the Six Dharmas, it is said that one can meditate after receiving the four empowerments of any of the highest tantras. However, since this is something that has never been known to people in the world before, one must receive the empowerment of this practice itself. Furthermore, to practice all of the generation and completion stages of this practice, one must receive the full empowerment. For those who do not seek the activities of recitation and practice of the generation stage, but only want to generate tummo through practice, it is sufficient to bestow only the permission empowerment. Because the full empowerment is related to the life-force empowerment of the Eight Classes, it is necessary to be cautious. Then, the actual instructions are divided into three parts: preliminary, main practice, and concluding practice. The preliminary practice is further divided into two parts: common and uncommon. Since most of these have already been done, this guide is not shown. In detail, it is like the guide of "Buddha's Handprint." Here, too, a brief outline will be clarified. This human body with eight freedoms and ten endowments is extremely difficult to obtain, and it is only this one time. If one does not obtain the essence this time, it is no different from going to the island of jewels and returning empty-handed. Therefore, in order to obtain the essence, one must practice the supreme Dharma.
