The oral instructions on Great Compassion, the union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, the Dharma of Meaningful Hearing, the seventh session, the guidance on generating Bodhicitta. The oral instructions on Great Compassion, the union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, the Dharma of Meaningful Hearing, the seventh session, the guidance on generating Bodhicitta. (Ja) The oral instructions on Great Compassion, the union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, the Dharma of Meaningful Hearing, the seventh session, the guidance on generating Bodhicitta, is complete. Homage to Great Compassion! The profound secret instructions of Great Compassion, the method of turning whatever is done into the path of enlightenment, is to cultivate loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment. From the Vajra verses of Avalokiteshvara: For the sake of all beings pervading space, Generate the supreme mind of enlightenment, The six paramitas are the subjects of training, The sons of the Victorious Ones should always train. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of Manifest Enlightenment of Vairochana: What is the omniscient wisdom of the Bhagavan? What is the root? What is the ultimate? When asked thus, the Bhagavan Vairochana spoke thus to Vajrapani: It is good that you ask me about the meaning. Therefore, listen well and keep it in mind. I will tell you. The cause is the mind of enlightenment. The root is great compassion. The ultimate is skillful means. Thus it is said. From the Bodhisattva Pitaka: Shariputra, if a Bodhisattva possesses one Dharma, he will fully grasp these Buddha Dharmas and countless others. What is the one Dharma? It is the mind of enlightenment, which is the perfection of thought. Shariputra, if a Bodhisattva possesses that one Dharma, he will fully grasp these Buddha Dharmas and countless others. Asked: Bhagavan, how is the thought? How is the mind of enlightenment? Answered: Shariputra, the so-called thought is compassion because it is inseparable. It is steadfast compassion because it is immovable. Thus it is said. The noble Nagarjuna said: If oneself and this world wish to attain unsurpassed enlightenment, The root of that is the mind of enlightenment, As stable as the king of mountains, And compassion that reaches to the ends of the directions, And wisdom that does not rely on duality. Thus it is said. Avatamsaka Sutra.

In the 'Potowa Collection' it says: Whoever wishes to see the Buddhas of the ten directions, whoever wishes to have an inexhaustible treasury of merit from giving, whoever wishes to understand the unbearable suffering of all beings, that person should generate the immeasurable qualities of Bodhicitta. Also, in the 'Compendium of Trainings' it says: Those who wish for the end of suffering, and also wish to go to the end of happiness, should establish faith as the root, and make their minds steadfast in Bodhi. Also, in the 'Sutra on Entering the Mudra of the Definite and Indefinite' it says: Manjushri, for whatever reason one generates the mind of Bodhi, therefore, for that mind, there is nothing that is not abandoned among non-virtuous actions, and also, there is nothing that is not grasped among the qualities of the Buddhas. Manjushri, Bodhisattvas are endowed with inconceivable qualities. Also, in the 'Sutra of Gathering All Merits' it says: Son of No Craving, for example, all rivers, springs, water droplets, and flowing waters gather and enter into the great ocean. Similarly, whatever meritorious actions there may be, whether arising from giving, or arising from ethics, or arising from meditation, whether with defilements or without defilements, whether worldly or transcending the world, all those merits gather and follow the mind of Bodhi. Son of No Craving, therefore, sons or daughters of good family who wish to fully gather all merits should generate the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Also, in the 'Sutra Requested by Maitreya' it says: If a Bodhisattva possesses one quality, they abandon all the bad migrations, do not go into the hands of evil friends, and quickly manifest complete enlightenment into unsurpassed, perfect, and complete Buddhahood. What is that one quality? It is like this: the Bodhicitta of excellent intention, complete in every way. Also, Maitreya spoke to Norzang about the benefits of Bodhicitta: Son of good family, the mind of Bodhi is like the seed of all the Buddha's teachings, like the field that increases all white qualities, like the earth that all the world relies on, like...
