It has been delayed for so long. Now I must listen to the guru's teachings, and I will escape this pit of fire, liberating all these sentient beings without exception! Thinking like this, as soon as I generated a strong mind of enlightenment, the iron hook in the guru's hand grabbed my heart, and instantly delivered me to the Pure Land of Bliss. Then, a hook of light appeared in my hand, thinking of rescuing all the sentient beings in the pit of fire one by one without exception, and intensely cultivating compassion for all sentient beings in samsara. Furthermore, if the meaning of what is being said is not understood, and the object of meditation is not clear, the suffering of samsara can be seen with one's own eyes. Among the three lower realms, the suffering of animals is less. Except for nagas, among animals, these deer and antelopes are the happiest. Look at how wild animals are killed by predators and hunters. If such suffering were to befall you, could you endure it? Look at where antelopes are slaughtered by merchants. If such a thing were to happen to you, how much suffering would there be? What certainty do you have of not being born in such a state? How cold would it be if you had no clothes for a day in winter? What would you do if you were born in a cold hell? If struck by a spark, would you be able to dodge in time? If born in a hot hell, could you endure it? What would happen if you didn't have food or drink for two or three days? What would it be like if you were born as a hungry ghost? How panicked would you be if a great uproar arose from busyness? What would you do if you were born as an asura? If all your tents, homes, fields, houses, property, and food were taken by enemies, and you had to wander in the wilderness, you would consider it a great suffering. But this is a hundred thousand times greater than the suffering of the fall of gods. If you don't see those things, you are blind. Even if you see them, you cannot move your heart. Is this not because your heart is made of stone? Regarding these things, the great accomplished Mitra Joki said: The ocean of suffering has no bottom or end, even if you are drowning in the river of existence, you are without sorrow or fear, joyful and triumphant. What is in our hearts? Alas! Worldly people with eyes, you are blind! Even though you clearly see those things, you still do not think about them even a little. Has your heart turned to stone? In this ocean of samsara, enemies and friends.

There is no certainty either. There is no certainty in happiness and suffering either. If one cannot practice the Dharma, then nothing has essence. The noble Katyayana said: The father eats the flesh of his son, and the mother consorts with her son. Due to bad karma, enemies are held in one's lap. The wife holds the bones of her husband. The ways of samsara are laughable. So it is said. In the chapter on Samadhi Assemblies: The father is the son, the mother is the wife. Beings who become enemies are actually friends. Because of this reversal, there is no certainty in this world. In the Sutra Requested by Strong Army: At one time, enemies become friends. Friends also become enemies in the same way. Likewise, some become neutral. That neutral person also becomes an enemy. Therefore, knowing that friends and relatives change, the wise never become attached. Turn away from the mental constructs of delighting in relatives. Having reversed it, abide in virtue as comfortably as possible. From the Elimination of Sorrow: Again and again in hell, the molten copper that is drunk is not even the measure of the water in the ocean. When one becomes a dog and a pig, the unclean food that is eaten exceeds the measure of Mount Meru. By being greatly separated from friends and relatives, the tears that are cried in the realms of samsara cannot be contained in a vessel, even the ocean. For the sake of fighting each other, the heads that are cut off, if piled up, would exceed the height of the Brahma world. Having become worms and being very hungry, the soil and manure that are eaten, if filled, would greatly fill the great ocean of milk. Thus it is said, therefore, recognizing that this samsara is meaningless, for the sake of the meaningful sacred Dharma, now generate diligence, courage, and wisdom. See if there is thought and understanding now. See if liberation can be attained now. The Dharma discourse on the faults of samsara is finished.
