Because it is said so in the scriptures, there is no fault in having a virtuous mind. It is said so. Then, do those high-ranking people not care about cause and effect, is there no fault? It is said that those who have attained the ground are free from the five fears. Therefore, it seems that before attaining the first ground, one can ignore cause and effect. It is also said that one cannot fall into the lower realms. In particular, those who have attained the supreme realization of gaining control over the channels and winds, whatever they do will become an aid to enlightenment, because they can transform the five poisons into the path. In the Practice Tantra, it is said: Vajrasattva dwells in the abode, all enjoyments can be eaten and used, accomplishment is complete without fault, what need is there to mention those who possess great compassion? It is said so. Even for those who have attained the ground and those who have attained accomplishment, although they will not fall into the lower realms due to the ripening result, they still need to show the appearance of experiencing the debt of life and the fruit of similar causes, such as Shakyamuni Buddha's feet being pierced by a splinter of sandalwood and showing Nirvana, and the story of the head of the noble Nagarjuna being pierced by a single blade of grass. Emaho! The meaning of the Blessed One Shakyamuni Buddha turning the wheel of the four noble truths in the holy place of Varanasi is this very cause and effect. Whoever says this is not true, it is said that their tongue will be cut off in this life. Cause and effect is so powerful, Whether it is Buddha, Bodhisattva, Arhat, or demons, gods, ghosts, and other powerful beings, no matter who does good or evil, the result of their actions cannot be changed. Even after hundreds of thousands of kalpas, it will not disappear, nor will it be obtained by others, when it ripens is inevitable. Therefore, one must examine one's own mindstream and must adopt and abandon good and evil. In the Sutra Requested by the Naga King Ocean, it is said: Naga King, Bodhisattvas have one dharma that completely cuts off the rebirth of falling into evil realms and evil destinies. What is that one dharma? It is like this: How will I change, how will the days and nights pass? To separately observe virtuous dharmas. It is said so. The teaching on cause and effect is finished.
