Even through hundreds of thousands of eons, this situation will not change in the slightest. Thus it is said. In the Mañjuśrīmūlatantra, it says: Actions have various natures; good always produces good; evil actions produce evil, each maturing separately. Mixed actions also mature separately in a mixed manner. Thus it is said. In the Ārya Deva-pṛcchā Sūtra, it says: For hot seeds, hot fruits will arise; for sweet seeds, sweet fruits will arise. Through this analogy, the wise should understand that the result of evil is bitter, and the fruit of virtue is sweet. Therefore, one should always, through body, speech, and mind, not commit any of the three evils, and even if others do evil, the wise should not rejoice in it. One should always, through body, speech, and mind, practice the three virtues, and for those who practice virtue, one should also rejoice. Thus it is said. If someone thinks that the details of karma and its effects are not true, then the heart of that person has been possessed by a demon, and they belong to the class of nihilistic heretics. This is a sign that they will immediately fall into Avīci hell after death. The Daśacakra Sūtra says: If someone thinks there is no karma and its effects, that is a heretical view of nihilism. Immediately after death, they will be born in Avīci hell; such a person will destroy themselves and also destroy others. And the Padma-stūpa Sūtra says: Some say there are no virtuous or non-virtuous results; these people practice the sacred Dharma in a perverted way. Some say it is not the time to meditate on selflessness; these people practice the sacred Dharma in a perverted way. Thus it is said. Then, if one thinks that the mind is empty, like space, is there no benefit or harm from good and evil? The Samādhirāja Sūtra says: For phenomena that are like space, with a mind that is like space, if one commits evils that are like space, one will fall into hell like space. For phenomena that are like space, with a mind that is like space, if one practices virtues that are like space, one will attain Buddhahood like space. Thus it is said. Then, what does it mean to say that there is no karma and its effects in the ultimate sense? The Mahāmaitrī Sūtra says: As long as conceptual thoughts have not ceased, karma exists, therefore believe in the ripening of karma. Do not despise even the smallest evil, abandon and confess it. Just as drops of water accumulate to form a great ocean. Good

Even small merits should not be despised but accepted. Accumulating dust particles is like Mount Sumeru and the four continents. If one understands the calculation of emptiness, it is like blessing poison with a mantra. Thus it is said. One's own actions do not ripen on others, and the actions of others do not ripen on oneself; one's own actions ripen on oneself. In the "Special Excellence Praise," it says: The virtues and sins of the Brahmins, it is said, are exhausted like giving and receiving. You said that what you have done will not be wasted, nor will it meet with what has not been done. In the "Samadhiraja Sutra," it says: Even if done, it will not fail to touch, nor will the actions of others be felt. Thus it is said. One's own actions are not wasted. In the "Sutra Requested by Palspas," it says: Virtue and non-virtue, what has been done before is not wasted. Relying on the wise is not wasted. The good words of the noble Sangha are not wasted. What has been done is never wasted. Thus it is said. In the "Karma Shataka," it says: Karma does not ripen on the earth, nor does it ripen on stone, but only ripens on the aggregates that are grasped. Thus it is said. There is no escape from one's own actions, even if one runs away. In the "Nirvana Sutra," it says: Whether one goes to the realm of space, the ocean, or the mountains and rocks, wherever one goes, one cannot escape from one's actions. Thus it is said. In the "Collection of Intentional Sayings," it says: There is no place where one can live and not be touched by karma; there is no such place anywhere, not in the sky, nor in the depths of the ocean, nor even if one enters among the mountains. Thus it is said. Whatever good or bad is done follows oneself. In the "Sutra Requested by Dpalbyin," it says: Parents, siblings, children, and wives, servants, wealth, roots, and retinues, none of them go after death; karma follows, and they go. Thus it is said. In the "Sutra of Advice to the King," it says: When the degenerate time comes and I am about to depart, enjoyment, friends, and relatives will not follow. Wherever that person is born, karma follows like a shadow. Thus it is said. In the "Collection," it says: Just as birds dwell in the sky, their shadows go with them. Good and evil, they follow where one goes. Just as a road with few paths, those who walk on the path suffer. Likewise, good karma
