A brief explanation of how the stages of the four yogas arise through practicing intrinsic awareness, an instruction given to the meditator Guru Tendzin. A brief explanation of how the stages of the four yogas arise through practicing intrinsic awareness, an instruction given to the meditator Guru Tendzin. A brief explanation of how the stages of the four yogas arise through practicing intrinsic awareness, an instruction given to the meditator Guru Tendzin. Homage to Mahamudra! I prostrate to the kind lama, inseparable from Vajradhara. The meditator Guru Tendzin said: Please write down and send me the boundaries of the four yoga stages. Because I have no experience or realization, I cannot distinguish the boundaries of the four stages. Nowadays, distraction is too great, I have no time to look at books. Although it is difficult to abide in the meaning, But according to my own practice, I immediately wrote down whatever I thought of. There are two aspects to this "seeing". Abiding and moving, recognizing and gaining certainty. That is just a nominal "seeing". There are three places to get lost at this time, One does not know how to look at one's own mind. By reciting mantras such as "Svabhava", In the emptiness like the sky, Meditating on emptiness, one gets lost in the expansion of emptiness. In the words of the sutras, tantras, Madhyamaka and Prajnaparamita texts, By analyzing and researching with reason, All dharmas Emptiness like the sky, Being free from extremes such as existence and non-existence, Thinking that it is so and gaining certainty, Abiding in that state, one gets lost in habit. In order to subdue the five poisons of affliction, Thinking that one is meditating on emptiness, That is getting lost in the antidote. Those are all paths fabricated by conceptual thought. Do not be so distracted, in your own mind, When you look at yourself, Even if you do not see form and objects, But there is something visible that cannot be seen, Clear and bright, shimmering. Briefly abiding there, Abiding, and that also, Will not abide for long, but flows everywhere. For that mover itself, Looking intently, it subsides in its own place. Like a water wave dissolving into water. Whatever kind of moving and abiding one does, Knowing and seeing, one recognizes abiding and moving. When one practices that for a long time, Just remembering it, one can reach it immediately. Not remembering is delusion, Remembering goes into practice. It is called easy to maintain abiding and moving. After practicing that for a long time, Like a windless lamp, Having the experience of emptiness, clarity and bliss.

Then. When meditating, Settle in single-pointedness. If distracted, it spreads into ordinary delusion. Sometimes practice, sometimes mistake. Even in a single day, there are many instances of settling and distraction. This is the yoga of small single-pointedness. By exerting great effort in this, Sometimes bliss arises, sometimes clarity. Sometimes non-conceptual experiences arise. At this time, three wrong paths will occur. Body bliss, mind bliss, little movement. Mostly inseparable during the day. Inseparable in the four activities of walking, staying, sitting, and lying down. If attachment arises to this, Then one cannot surpass this experience and realization. In the future, one will be born in the desire realm as a god. Sometimes clear emptiness appears nakedly. Like the sky with broken clouds. Thinking that one's emptiness practice is high, There is great conviction and clinging. Clear, distinct, and bright. It seems like there is a seer and something to be seen. If attachment is great to this, Then experience and realization will not increase from this, In the future, one will be born in the form realm as a god. Then, if attachment and clinging do not arise to those experiences, Then at some point, a rough experience will definitely arise. Discriminatory thoughts arise like a whirlwind. The mind stream is uncomfortable, the mind is uncomfortable. Even when looking at the mind, there is nothing to see. Something like the life force rising occurs. Hatred and afflictions are greater than before. This is a rough experience arising from karma, If one indulges in it at that time, Then meditation is confused and ridiculed by everyone. At that time, one should pray and call out from afar. Loosen the mind and rest loosely. From this, great benefit will arise. Sometimes, even without looking outward, Nakedly and clearly it appears inward. Experience of bliss, experience of clarity, experience of non-conceptuality. Uncertain, anything can appear. Press down on the seat and release activities. Desiring to practice single-pointedly. Mostly one can remember dreams. If effort is great, then mostly, There will be no time of distraction. This is considered intermediate single-pointedness. Then, when the experience of clarity arises, It is close to knowing the minds of others, At the boundary between sleep and not sleeping, There is a light like a torch, And a light like moonlight arises, By this cause, one can recognize one's own mind. One can see what people far away are doing, One can hear what is said from afar. Things similar to clairvoyance happen a few times. It does not happen constantly. Sometimes one remembers dreams, sometimes one is mistaken. When mistaken, the dream that was dreamed, Descends like clairvoyance. Experience and dream reme
