Now, if you know it's a demon, or that you've been blessed by a demon, don't be controlled by them. With unwavering faith, abandon laziness again, generate diligence, and quickly accomplish those virtuous deeds. Regarding other aspects, there are also two: First, with ordinary equanimity, don't create obstacles. Second, if the enemy creates obstacles, then the method to transform it into accomplishment is: If you are a beginner, regard the one who causes harm as a lama of patience, look at him with joy, cultivate patience, and transform his merit into accomplishment. If your own warmth and energy have just emerged, then cut off the one who causes harm, and subdue him through the activity of subjugation, placing him in the Buddha's teachings. If you have the ability but do not subdue the harm-causers such as demons, you will commit the fault of abandoning the Buddha's teachings and sentient beings, and it will become a root downfall. Furthermore, if due to the causes of internal and external obstacles, or when the time comes and death approaches, then the method to transform it into accomplishment is: It has already been taught in the context of taking death as a companion. Like this, these methods such as transforming sickness into an ally are called the five nails of the path that transform all faults into qualities. These instructions are the essential points of the Great Perfection, the unsurpassed Father and Mother Tantras, summarized by the great Vajradhara and all-knowing one called the Great Naropa, who perfected the five poisons into five wisdoms in an instant, as the nails that eliminate the faults of the base, path, and fruit, the nail of transforming sickness into an ally, the nail of transforming death into an ally, the nail of transforming afflictions into the path, the nail of self-liberating thoughts, and the five nails of the wheel of essential points that transform obstacles into accomplishments and perfect the fruit of the five kayas as self-arisen wisdom. The lineages such as Mila the Yogi practiced them in this way. Published by the Nangchen Banggang Zorig Cultural and Sutra Secret Mantra Chöpel Ling Ancient Book Restoration Center in Kham Tö.
