A Song of Advice to Drak Lhu. A Song of Advice to Drak Lhu. A Song of Advice to Drak Lhu is complete. Namo Lokeshvaraya. Sanskrit Romanization: namo lokeśvarāya, Chinese literal meaning: Homage to the Lord of the World) Glorious Great Compassionate Avalokiteshvara. Sentient beings connected to human masters, have no other refuge, please hold them with compassion. You, the wise Drak Lhu, gave me, a hermit who practices, the book of Red Teachings, that is connected to good aspirations. Now, to gain benefit, I will say three words of advice. Son Drak Lhu, do not be distracted, listen carefully. This precious human body with leisure and endowment, is difficult to obtain except for this time. Do not waste it meaninglessly. Son Drak Lhu, guard a seat during the fishing season. People grow old and die, one by one. Look at how many of your peers are dying. Think about what certainty you have of not dying. Son Drak Lhu, entrust your mind to the Dharma. Even if you commit sins for the sake of relatives and wives, the sins will not be shared by everyone, but will ripen on yourself. The family of relatives and wives is like a guest in the market. Son Drak Lhu, take care of yourself. Now, if you kill one sentient being, you will have to repay nine hundred and ninety-nine times. The ripening of karma will keep you in hell for thousands of years. Think about these things and abandon killing. These birds and wild animals are the livestock of the gods of Tsen country. If you kill them, someday you will be harmed by gods and demons. Be careful in your heart about this matter. Even if hunters spend their whole lives hunting wild animals, they will eventually become more and more hungry, and the meat and fur will soon be exhausted. Sins like Mount Meru will remain on yourself. Son, if you are smart, take care of yourself. The suffering of the three lower realms, even hearing it with your ears makes your liver and heart tremble. What will you do if it happens to yourself? Son, if you have thoughts, fear sin. Even if enemies become hundreds and thousands of flesh and blood, they will not be boiled and fried for three days. Even a small sin will take thousands of years. Son, if you are cautious, fear sin. All sentient beings such as birds and wild animals are the parents of many previous lives. Killing them is no different from killing your parents. Son, if you have shame, do not do shameful things. These delicious meat and blood are unclean semen and uterine blood. Eating these will bring defilement, and the gods will not be pleased. Son, if you have shame, do not eat meat. No matter how arrogant enemies, robbers, and thieves are, they cannot steal food and property from the next life. Committing theft once will cause you to be reborn thousands of times.

Think about how you will become impoverished. Even if you steal just a needle and thread, you will have to take the body of a hungry ghost for five hundred lifetimes, unable to hear a single drop of water with your ears. They are as thin as shuttles, with ten ribs showing and empty chests. This great fear of samsara, no one else can save you from it. Therefore, to be sure of being saved, take refuge in the Three Jewels morning and night. The six kinds of beings are all kind parents. If you dedicate merit to other purposes, it will become very significant. Children, reciting scriptures and practicing Dharma, as well as general dedications, all of these are dedicated for the benefit of beings. Even a small act of virtue will bring immeasurable happiness in the next life. Children, like planting seeds in good soil, therefore, even small acts of virtue should be diligently performed. Even small evil deeds will cause great harm in the next life. It's like swallowing poison. Therefore, children, even small evil deeds should be avoided. Children, in the sky above your own head, on top of a lotus, sun, and moon triple cushion, the kind father Padmasambhava, his body white and red, complete with marks and signs. His face is wrathful yet smiling, his eyes gazing at you. He wears a lotus hat, adorned with silk and mirrors. He holds a vajra (藏文:རྡོ་རྗེ།,梵文天城体:वज्र,梵文罗马拟音:vajra,汉语字面意思:diamond scepter), a skull cup (藏文:བྷནྡྲ་,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:bhaṇḍa,汉语字面意思:skull cup), and a khatvanga (藏文:ཁ་ཊཾ་,梵文天城体:खट्वाङ्ग,梵文罗马拟音:khaṭvāṅga,汉语字面意思:khatvanga). He wears silk robes and the three Dharma robes. His feet are firmly seated in the vajra posture. All the Buddhas of the ten directions and their retinues are invited to merge into oneness. Pray from the depths of your heart and bones, and finally dissolve into light and merge into yourself. Don't just do it once, meditate repeatedly. Sometimes look at your own mind. Sometimes recite scriptures such as the Sutra and the Hundred Thousand Verses (Prajnaparamita in One Hundred Thousand Verses). Sometimes perform practices and aspirations. Sometimes recite the Vajra Guru mantra Vajra Guru). Sometimes pray to Orgyen (Padmasambhava). Sometimes look for where your own mind is. If you can't find your mind, rest in that state. Just like a shepherd tending a flock of sheep, watch where the mind goes and what it does. From the time the Buddha spoke the twelve divisions of the teachings, the so-called Prajnaparamita, be certain that its meaning is your own mind. If you recognize the mind, then you have recognized the most supreme of all things. Therefore, it is called Prajnaparamita. Reciting Prajnaparamita with the mouth and meditating on Prajnaparamita in the mind, combining these two is of great benefit. The eighteen volumes of the extensive, medium, and concise Prajnaparamita Sutras spoken by the Buddha, their meaning all revolves around your own mind.
