Having just a few books, I think accumulating them is not of much use. When I haven't developed the desire and realization to write, Even if I contemplate things, it's difficult to do well. When the strong desire to create my own arises, Without needing to think, it arises spontaneously. I wonder if this is a characteristic of the people? Although I cannot compete with the Kagyu teachings, Nor do I have songs of realization, But like the young and ignorant, Who have many songs in words, I write down some words that come to my mind, Also because someone urges me again and again. Thus he spoke.

In times of kalpas, Even the sound of the Buddha's teachings is not heard. Now, born in this fortunate kalpa, Even if a thousand Buddhas come, the teachings will be short-lived. Now, in the realm of great compassion, Born in the land of Tibet, where the sacred Dharma flourishes. With incomplete faculties, foolish, deaf, dumb, and blind, Though having obtained a human body, one does not recognize the Dharma. By the fruit of upholding morality in past lives, Now the faculties and consciousness are clear. If born into an outer heretical Bon lineage, Though the faculties are complete, one has wrong views about the Dharma. Now, with faith in the Three Jewels, Born into a Buddhist family. When the teachings between China and Tibet are interrupted, The Dharma and the Lama are extremely difficult to find. Now that the feast of the Dharma is spread out, Qualified Lamas are abundant on earth. A king's slave and a butcher's wife, Though desiring the sacred Dharma, do not have the freedom. Now, not being enslaved by others, In this time when one has freedom over oneself, Not practicing the sacred Dharma now, Is like going to an island of seven precious things, And returning empty-handed, Is it not the most foolish? Think about it! Now, in this time of perfect endowments, If one does not practice the sacred Dharma, When will one practice the sacred Dharma? Reflect deeply on this yourself! If one does not accomplish the Dharma now, The merit of past lives and this good body will be exhausted. Like a ship wrecked in the middle of the ocean, One will fall into the endless ocean of samsara. The waves of birth, old age, sickness, and death churn, Afflictions, like sea monsters, seize with sharp teeth, With unbearable suffering of the lower realms, One will utter cries of woe and lamentation. Therefore, with this pure boat of leisure and endowment, Relying on a qualified Lama to please them, With the oars of profound experiential instructions and teachings, May you cross the ocean of samsara! Thus it is said.
