Having prostrated to the feet of the Lord of the Three Realms, here I will speak about the meaning of the Sutras and Tantras regarding this ritual. Generally, the term 'ritual' is well-known in the Bon tradition, and it seems that most mantra practitioners nowadays also perform it according to the Bon tradition. It can be divided into two types: elaborate and concise. It seems that if monks or mantra practitioners worship and praise Bon deities, it contradicts their refuge vows. Since patrons have also received empowerments and refuge vows of the Buddhist tradition, it seems inappropriate to worship Bon deities. So, where is the Buddhist ritual explained?

Doing this is beneficial for those who, as stated in the Hinayana sutras, remain in the bardo state before their lifespan is exhausted. It is also beneficial for those who must remain in the bardo for many generations before taking rebirth. Although the general teaching of the sutras and tantras is that consciousness is reborn into one of the six realms after forty-nine days, even offering sacrifices does not actually achieve anything. However, it creates an auspicious connection for prosperity, and one also gains merit. For example, when pouring water and giving away one's body, even if offerings are made to the six realms of beings, nothing is actually gained, but one's own merit increases, similarly. The consciousness of the deceased attaches to the body of the deceased and remains in the cemetery. If it is happy and prosperous, the descendants will flourish. If it is declining, hungry, and thirsty, and asks for help from the descendants, if it is not satisfied, sickness and misfortune will befall the descendants, as stated in the Chinese divination texts. Furthermore, if a deceased person's hungry ghost attaches to the deceased's body and causes harm, offering this ransom will also help. It also helps when dreaming of the deceased causing harm. Similarly, when dreaming of the deceased bringing help and happiness, offering thanks will also help. If the deceased is reborn as a local deity or spirit, doing this will bring protection to the children and grandchildren. Furthermore, if parents and others have died of famine, doing this will benefit both the living and the dead. Wherever their consciousness is reborn in the six realms, the consciousness of the deceased will feel hunger, and if it is satisfied, the living will become wealthy. It also helps to restore the good legacy of the ancestors. If the descendants are few, doing this will be helpful. It is helpful for the deceased who have died from illness, etc. It is best to do this on the tenth day of the waxing moon or the fifteenth day of the first month of autumn. Otherwise, it can be done at any time when there are no inauspicious astrological influences. On a white base, draw an eight-petaled barley lotus, and in the center place a container of jewels or a clean plate, and on top of a three-tiered Mount Meru, place a four-cornered torma, with a khyung bird made of tsampa placed on top of the torma. Arrange: white offerings, stacked medicines, triangular auspicious offerings, images of yaks, sheep, horses, and camels, butter lamps, roasted flour, the essence of milk and yogurt, and whatever food can be found. To elaborate, in the blood vessel of a dried sheep's heart: Om Ah Gyalbu Tingge Hung Svaha (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning) recite as follows.
