For myself, the benefactor, and the patrons, may their life, lifespan, fortune, and power, from the world of Brahma downwards, and up to the realm of Naraka hells, be released. Whatever demon or obstacle is in whose hands, whether placed in the judgment book of Yama, or taken by the grave-robbing demoness, or by the executioner wielding a knife, or by whichever of the Eight Classes, today we offer the ransom for life, ransoming life and soul. The Sugatas of the three times are witnesses and judges. Today, accept this ransom and release this person. The ransom for life is a superior grain effigy. The materials are made from five types of grains. Wolfsbane is offered as meat in order, lungs and eyes are offered as walnut kernels, large conch shells and gravel are offered as bones, and superior cinnabar and red ochre are offered as blood.
