Everything was devoured by that three-headed monster. The three realms (desire realm, form realm, formless realm) were on the verge of emptiness. That one with the head of a ferocious tiger, is the son of the planet Ketu entering the womb. Whoever he meets, he kills instantly. He always delights in killing and cutting. He is a flesh-eater, blood-drinker, with great hatred. One head is the head of a bull, the pervader, the son of the planet Saturn entering the womb. Whoever he meets, he attacks their life. He sends leprosy, scabies, and boils. He has a roar that destroys everything. He is not a planet, not a demon, but has great power. He eats the life force of humans as food. One head is the head of a foolish pig, the son of the planet Mars entering the womb. His hands are very swift and quick. He greatly hates life and the life force. He devours whatever sentient beings he meets. Such a black three-headed person, was observed by the compassion of the Noble One. The wise Noble Manjushri, emanated as one just like him. A black three-headed terrifying form, with a guttural sound that shook the world. From his eyes blazed fire, from his mouth flowed pus and blood. Gnashing his teeth, glaring his eyes, he spoke thus: You are not a human, but a vicious roarer. A sentient being without compassion. I will subdue everything, and you are also one to be subdued by me. Having spoken thus, he swallowed the three heads and so on, into his throat and expelled them from his feet. He, trembling with fear, offered this plea: Great hero, have mercy on me! I will listen to your words. As you say, I will do.
