From my seven generations of ancestors onwards, down to my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, we, the patrons and retinue, in this life and in previous lives, whatever displeases the nagas and earth deities, I confess and may it be purified. Cutting down tree spirits, digging up earth spirits, destroying rock spirits, moving boulders, diverting water offending water spirits, digging up land offending nagas, killing birds, wild animals, and aquatic creatures, improper handling of corpses, unclean burial grounds, encroaching on field boundaries, faults in building castles, disputes, filth, unclean food, breaking oaths, lending guarantees, etc., whatever has been done against your wishes, I confess. May all hatred and disputes be purified. In the past, the Garuda and the Jewel-Crowned One, initially had enmity, but Shakyamuni Buddha reconciled them. Likewise, I and the patron and retinue, may the enmity with the nagas and earth deities be reconciled today. Naga King Conch-Crested, Garuda Golden-Eyed, initially had enmity, but ultimately reconciled. King Ashoka Shankara Naga, initially had enmity, but ultimately became friends. King Mata, the naga of Jambudvipa, initially had enmity, but ultimately reconciled. Garuda Frightful, Naga Elephant Strong, initially had enmity, but ultimately reconciled. King Dharma Ashoka, and the naga named Abode of Existence, initially had enmity, but ultimately reconciled. Just like the examples of past existences, we, the patrons and retinue, with the nagas and earth deities, and you powerful ones, originally had no enmity or disputes. If there is any, may the enmity be reconciled today. If there is any dispute, may the dispute be purified today. May you all be free from illness and suffering, may radiance, power, strength, and glory increase.
