Furthermore, according to what was said by Dung Sang (དཔུང་བཟང་), when offering lamps, a demon with a crest (བགེགས་གཙུག་ཕུད་ཅན་) enters, causing a burning sensation and stabbing pain in the chest, as well as mental depression and other problems. The method to eliminate this demon is to light two small lamps made with white cloth wicks, and recite: Om Amrite Hum Phat Om, Amrita, Hum, Phat), then place the two lamps with their wicks facing downwards, and recite this mantra one hundred times. By doing this, the demon will be turned upside down and will not harm you in the future. This is very important during the lighting of lamps and the birth of the Lamp King. This method of dispelling obstacles belongs to the practice of the Kriya Tantra, and even if it does not reach the level of Sutra or Anuttara Yoga Tantra, there is not much harm in it. The blessing of lamps is divided into the Sutra tradition, the outer and inner Mantra traditions, and three types of rituals. In the Sutra tradition, there is no need for mantras or mudras, nor is there a need for dispelling obstacles. Instead, from the perspective of ultimate truth, in the state of emptiness where inherent existence is not established, visualize the conventional truth in an illusory form: within various precious containers like the external world, fill the lamp with oil as vast as the outer great ocean, the wick as large as the central Mount Meru, and the light of the lamp illuminates all the Buddha fields to the edge of the sky, and contemplate dispelling the darkness of ignorance of all sentient beings. In the rituals of Kriya Tantra and Charya Tantra, it is very important to dispel obstacles as described above. Then, from emptiness, visualize the nature of the goddess Dipoma (དྷི་པོ་མ།) as the light of the lamp, from which emanate countless lamps, and visualize each lamp appearing before all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and bless them with the mantra and mudra of the lamp. In the ritual of Yoga Tantra, from emptiness, visualize the lamp inseparable from the attributes of the goddess Alokema (ཨཱ་ལོ་ཀེ་མ།), from whose light emanate countless red goddesses Aloke (ཨཱ་ལོ་ཀེ་) holding lamps, and visualize offering them to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to the edge of the sky. In the ritual of Anuttara Yoga Tantra, from emptiness, a red Hum (藏文:ཧཱི༔,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) syllable radiates light, offering to the Buddhas and dispelling the darkness of all sentient beings, then it converges back and transforms into the goddess Alokema (ཨཱ་ལོ་ཀེ་མ་) of lotus color, adorned with beautiful ornaments and silks, her right hand holding a lamp illuminating all of samsara and nirvana, her left hand holding a bell, sitting in a half-lotus posture on a lotus and moon seat.

And abide. From that lamp, countless goddesses holding lamps, identical to oneself, emanate continuously, pervading all Buddha-fields. Contemplate them as having the nature of pleasing all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Holding a fist and raising the thumb is the mudra of the lamp, and the mantra is "Om Vajra Aloke Ah Hum Svaha (藏文:ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཨཱ་ལོ་ཀེ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ vajra āloke āḥ hūṃ svāhā,汉语字面意思:)". Then, the bodhicitta of the lamp is: Offering lamps for the sake of not being born in the lower realms, for obtaining the happiness of gods and humans in the future, and for attaining the state of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas is of little merit. In the Sutra of Offering Lamps, it is said: With the mind of attaining Pratyekabuddhahood, offering lamps as large as Mount Meru to Pratyekabuddhas in all directions for a hundred kalpas is less meritorious than offering a bundle of grass for the sake of attaining Bodhi. With the mind of desiring Pratyekabuddhahood, filling all directions with lamps as large as Mount Meru by each of the beings in the ten directions and lighting them for countless kalpas is less meritorious than offering lamps to a Buddha's stupa with the desire for Bodhi. Therefore, for the benefit of all sentient beings, for the sake of attaining complete and perfect Buddhahood oneself, offering this lamp to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, this generation of bodhicitta is extremely important. When offering, it is best to have objects of body, speech, and mind as supports. If not, then also visualizing all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is like them actually being present. For the sake of attaining Buddhahood, offering lamps while visualizing the Buddha, or offering a slight light to a Tathagata's stupa for a moment like a flash of lightning, illuminating one step of the stairs, the merit of that cannot be explained by Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. With sincere devotion and without deceit, having faith in the Buddha, offering a small lamp, can the steps of the Buddha's stupa be seen? If the stupa can be made visible in the time it takes to open and close the eyes, then that merit cannot be explained by anyone other than the Buddha, for it is said to be immeasurable. Furthermore, the Sutra of Offering Lamps speaks extensively, now summarizing the essential words and explaining them briefly: The benefits of offering lamps are that one will definitely obtain three things in this life, namely, wanting to take the essence from meaningless enjoyments, and I, wanting to abandon the lower realms and obtain the heavens or Bodhi, and I, am a performer of virtuous deeds.
